I wouldn't read into it too much. I have read in several places that he tends to be pretty sarcastic during interviews. As it was described, he will say things and the interviewer will be left wondering, "wait is he joking, or is he serious?"

Though I have to say the fist time I heard Because of the Shame, my first thoughts were, "Damn! I wish this was a Gaslight song!"

Drifter, AM! really is an amazing band. Try to stick to their earlier stuff, don't get me wrong, New Wave and White Crosses are really good, but Searching, Cowboy, Axl and all the EPs are AMAZING!

They just added a headlining show near me. Small place, Cheap Girls opening, tickets are $13... should be awesome. I'm so glad I decided not to see one of the shows with Silversun Pickups now.

Touring Australia in October. This will be the 2nd time I've seen the full band and I also saw Tom with Chuck Ragan last year. I love how they tour Australia regularly, we must be awesome.

Hopefully they bring out a great support band again.

I saw Against me! in Australia and it was the best show I have seen them play. The crowds dig it a lot more suppose its because they dont get the chance to see American and European bands tour as much as we do so appreciate it a lot more so go crazy for it.

Yeh, they've said that in a number of interviews I've seen. Good stuff. I might do the Sydney/Newcastle double in one weekend

All you peeps should listen to 'Paper Arms' from Adelaide. Their new debut album is seriously awesome, they kinda sound like they have a Gainesville inspired sound to them, so it should appeal

I need some new Australian bands to listen to I got given a list by a someone I got chatting to over there at a gig. So far the only one I can remember are The Nation Blue.

the knitting factory show in nyc when tom played with Kevin, his original drummer, was without a doubt one of the best if not the best show i have ever been to. i still watch bootlegs of it all the time.

In regard to Tom's comment about Gaslight I'll agree with everyone else saying that he's probably just being his normal sarcastic self. If anything he's referencing the fact that the whoa's in Sink Florida Sink and Gaslight's Boomboxes and Dictionaries are the same. I wouldn't worry about it though.

the only other time i remember Tom mentioning TGA was in another interview he did. though i dont remember what it was for i remember reading it last year some time. The question was something along the lines of, how does it feel to now be in a place where you and your band are influencing new up and coming bands like the gaslight anthem? Tom said something along the lines of, Yeah its cool to be influencing new music and bands like the gaslight anthem, as long as they do recognize that we are an influence on them. hah same sort of sarcastic tone though.

but they did tour together a bit, so im sure theres not really any bad blood.

I've been trying to get into this for ages. That's ended today; these guys are fucking awesome!

Oh yes they are.
It took a while for me to get into them as well but now they're fucking great

they where better a few years back tho, but with that said, they are still great and i do like their new album! =)

well i was surprised their new record turned out to be so very poppy... still like it somehow, but i'm gonna have to go through it more often
