| We shouldn't need to comps, I think that band only forums only really prosper when there is big hype, like since Green Day stopped touring the UK board is dead. I know TGA are still going, but something new needs to happen | |

| He played a fucking awesome set tonight too. This probably isn't complete or in order, but I can remember: "Random Hearts" "Amputations" "Reinventing Axl Rose" "Walking Is Still Honest" "Tonight We're Gonna GIve it 35%" "Anna Is a Stool Pigeon" "8 Full Hours of Sleep" "Wagon Wheel" "We Did It All For Don" "Joy" "Armageddon" "Pints of Guinness Make You Strong" "What We Worked For" "Jordan's First Choice" "Baby I'm An Anarchist" "Harsh Realms"
(edit: added a song i forgot) (and edited again for another one)

| ok, earlier I said that I did not like Tom Gabel's solo release... ...now I regret those words. I actually really like all but 1.2 songs. The thing that really bugs me is the drum machine (I am sure Drumma appreciates this rant)... in the first song, I literally cringe when I hear it! it is not as bad on the second song, and fortunately the harmonica playing really takes over... the rest of the record has really grown on me and I find myself singing a line or two from different songs all day long | |

| here's the set list from the 20th according to spin: "I Dreamed Bob Dylan Was a Friend of Mine" "Random Hearts" "Amputations" "Joy" "Harsh Realms" "Anna is a Stool Pigeon" "Wagon Wheel" "Jordan's First Choice" "Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35%" "Walking is Still Honest" "What We Worked For" "Those Anarcho Punks Are Mysterious..." "I Still Love You Julie" "Shit Stroll" "Impact" "Ya'll Don't Wanna Step To Dis" "Burn" "We Did It All for Don" "8 Full Hours of Sleep" "Sink, Florida, Sink"
it's sick that he was playing with the original drummer too. as for the solo release, i think the songs aren't bad, i just don't like the versions on the album. the acoustic versions on youtube are awesome, but Random Hearts is terrible on the album

| I figured I'd bump this thread with a question.
Does anyone know the chord progression for "I Can't See You, But I Know You're There" off of Tom Gabel's solo album. I found a youtube video of him performing it but I can't make out what chords he is playing exactly. Any help is appreciated.
Oh and here is a link to the video, I Can't See You starts around 2:55 in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1h2J1SWkyU

[/quote] Haha. I lost a shoe at an Against Me! show too!!! haha. I was pissed. I got it back though. I wish I saw them and gaslight together!

| yes, they played 4 songs I did not know; however, one of my friends said the last one was a cover. They actually started the show with a new song and it sounded really good. The set they played was really remarkable, at no point did they take a break... no talking to the crowd, no walking around bullshitting.... just pure rock and roll! It really was a great show | |

| They where like that it was like when I saw the in Australia while I was out there. An non stop punk rock explosion though they did stop to let two 12 year olds get up and watch side of stage. I had seen them before and it was okay but this was amazing. | |

| Thats rad, if anyone has any of the new songs, let us know.
I saw against me last october. It was fucking good! Some bands can pull of the whole talking in between sets thing really well, like gaslight, but against me is pretty much just a fucking marathon til its over, and they're sprinting the entire time!
haha. | |

| I love Against Me! it's been so long since I saw them. To date, the first time I saw them is the best gig I've ever been too, and I've been to a lot.
I hope the next time they tour UK they do lots of dates in smaller venues rather than 3-4 shows in bigger venues.

| Bad news:
"We told Warren this afternoon that we are going to look for a new drummer. Andrew, James and I made the decision a couple days ago over lunch. I told them that I didn’t want to play music with Warren anymore. They both agreed that this was a necessary step, it’s been a long time coming. Warren’s heart hasn’t been in this for a while now."
http://ifeelsicktomystomach.blogspot.com/
FROM AGAINST ME! site
" A Farewell From Warren Oakes.
After coming to the conclusion that it was time to start a new chapter in his life, Warren Oakes has left Against Me!. While we don’t rule out the possibility of some day playing music together again, for now the four of us feel like this is the best decision. We’d like to wish Warren the best of luck with his new Mexican Restaurant, “Boca Fiesta”, which he just opened in Gainesville.
“I've spent the past 8 years making beautiful music with my best friends and sharing it with amazing people all over the world. I've had the honor and privilege of traveling with the most dedicated road dogs on the planet and sharing the stage with the greatest bands. I have been embraced by so many with such graciousness and hospitality and love. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the dream a reality, especially Tom, James and Andrew. I've had the time of my life, and I owe it all to you.
- Warren Oakes” | |
