| I'm pretty happy with how this came out but feel free to judge for yourselves!
24/96 FLAC part 1 - https://we.tl/X7JNKvlLzN part 2 - https://we.tl/S1AATI9ob4
16/44.1 FLAC https://we.tl/11UcBXpbvL
320 mp3s https://we.tl/Rnvm4yWfDL
I very quickly checked out a track for the 16/44.1 conversion but haven't listened to it all. If there's any issues with those or any of the other files please let me know. Links are good for 7 days.

Really sounds great! Thank you so much for taping and sharing! And thank you for splitting up/labelling the banter as separate tracks.

| No problem. Other bands I usually leave the short banter as the end of a track and then I can just skip ahead but Brian's short banter is like a minute long so I can see where people might drop those tracks by the second or third listen. The Goo's bit and the Journey bit were entertaining though I'll admit I'm biased towards older Goo's growing up in Buffalo.
It's really amazing how the quality of live recordings has come along. As I was making edits I was thinking about ways to make the original capture sound better for next time. Then I thought about the cassette tapes I used to trade in high school and college of Pearl Jam shows and how much an improvement there's been over the last 20 years.

I think we've been going backwards of late, though (in the broad sense - haven't checked out your tape yet). People using internal mics on an iPhone are not that far from those taping on cassettes, and as taking videos has become easier, we see fewer and fewer audio recordings made using great setups. In at least a few metrics, taping might have peaked about 10 years ago, when it became easy to share tapes but video recording hadn't taken over and everyone wasn't carrying around a mediocre recording device in their pocket.

| The technology is there to make it easier to get great sounding bootlegs and to share them now. Even more than 10 years ago. You're definitely correct that 10 years ago was the peak as far as people using decent things to tape shows and sharing them is concerned. Dime and archive.org used to be great resources. Now you get a post occasionally but you're more likely to find the whole show on youtube. Unfortunately with much worse quality. There are some exceptions and some bands that have a heavy taper following but it's dwindling. Most people can't be bothered when the phone they're carrying already has the capability. We're in a time where convenience is valued more than quality. | |
