| You don't hear much from him, here's a (not very informative) interview.

| Shame the interviewer clearly doesn't know shit. Would've loved it if he actually asked stuff like "Now Brian is a self proclaimed Yankees fan. What effect does that have on the band relationship dynamic?"
but instead he just has the standard Gaslight interview list of "LOL REMEMBER THAT TIME YOU PLAYED WITH SPRINGSTEEN SERIOUSLY I HAVENT CHANGED THIS LIST IN THREE YEARS"

Thing is, wherever the interviewer works, it's kinda there job to know about the person they're interviewing.

True, but this is what I envision happens at nearly every publication when they find out they're interviewing this band. Google search: The Gaslight Anthem Results: inaccurate/vague wikipedia page, other inaccurate/sensationalized reviews, "Springsteen" turns up in every result. Conclusion: These guys are on their 3rd album and are a Springsteen tribute band! Writes questions accordingly.

| The problem with interviewing them is they aren't that interesting by rock n' roll standards for the average person to care about... not really taking a shot at them but how many questions can you really ask them before topics start repeating? Obviously someone who follows the band can come up with tons of questions that are interesting to them but in terms of appealing to a general audience then the Springsteen connection is probably the only thing people will care about hence why it's asked repeatedly. | |
