| Hey Shannon! Ah, I suppose it's a tough day... the kids leave today right? I'm doing pretty good. Just been rocking out to the new album. Vinyl is on it's way in the mail. Foot is still so-so. I'll probably just rest it today a bunch. Yeah...not sure where Ilaria got that frog. It does have crazy eyes. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FROG ILARIA?? IT NEEDS TO LAY OFF THE DRUGS! | |

| Yeah, it is a tough day, but I don't think it's hit me yet. Last night they were all here until like, 11:00, and it was so hard to say goodbye. I kept it together around the kids, but then I lost it when I said goodbye to my cousin. I owe you a PM, so I'll explain details later. Yesterday was just really bad though. Handwritten is making everything better though. I can't get enough of it! It's just perfect. Oh man, wait until you hear the vinyl! The CD is wonderful, but the vinyl is breathtaking. Haha, when I read, "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FROG..." I read it to the tune of Señor and the Queen - "Where'd you get those eyes". I AM SO OBSESSED. | |

NO! I'm still alive, I've just been really busy this week. My cousin's kids were here in the afternoons and evenings, plus I was working and life just got really stressful and hectic. Plus I don't sleep, so I've been exhausted. What have you been up to? Did your party get rescheduled?

| No, the party went on without me. I haven't been up too much. Just been doing what I usually now. I am half way down with Insanity right now and I am looking into Insanity:Asylum as my next workout program. I am about to lay down the bucks for it. | |

Are you enjoying your new record player? I can't get enough of Handwritten on vinyl. I love working out so much. I love Insanity cause nothing ever pushed me this hard. It is such a good workout program. I was one of the three people who were throwing the party but hey, it happens. I am not down about it or anything. I haven't had a drink for a couple weeks I don't think. Haven't been drunk for two months. Not missing it very much. I am enjoying my new player. I don't pull it out very much though cause I don't have speakers yet. I think I will get speaks down the line and then really dive into vinyl. I am happy with the deluxe edition right now. Howl is already at 50 listens on Itunes. That doesn't count vinyl, car listens, and stream. I don't even want to think how high the numbers for each song would be with all listens combined.

Yeah, I'm holding up okay right now, but at some point it's going to hit me that they're gone and then I'm going to be a mess. I'll get through it, it's just going to be rough. I don't even want to think how high the numbers for each song would be with all listens combined. That sounds like a horribly intense workout program. I think I would die! No, I take that back. I know I would! That's good that you don't miss getting drunk that much. I'm done with that too. I'll have a drink or two if I want to, but no more going overboard. It's not good for me! I'm glad you're enjoying your record player. I thought about getting a turntable and separate speakers, but I didn't want to mess with the setup and stuff, so mine is an all in one unit. It's so easy to use and I love it! I bet with the combination of iTunes, my iPod, iPad, CD, and the vinyl, I have probably listened to this album over 50 times in the last week. And I am fully aware of how crazy that sounds, but it's just SO INCREDIBLE!

How can it be last?!" Aaahhhhhh, this album is killing me! Isn't it crazy how relevant Gaslight lyrics are to life? I think that's why I love these songs so much. They're relatable and heartfelt, and just about things that we all go through in life, only Brian has a way of writing that makes everything just come together and make sense. Ah, the peace frogs. I kind of remember, but I haven't seen them for ages. Maybe you were more of a hippie back in your day than was I. haha Don't worry, I won't forget! I really didn't think anything would beat American Slang for me, but this did. I love all the albums, but Handwritten is just extra special to me. But yeah, you need to hear the vinyl before you can make a decision about favorites. I think the emotional aspect of the songs comes through more on the record than the CD. Haha, I was kind of a hippie. That was my high school label. I definitely identify with the whole peace and love way of thinking, and I have always said that if I had been around back in the 60s/70s, I would have been a part of the civil rights movement, women's lib, protesting the Vietnam War, all of it. I always stand up for what I believe in.

That'd be cool! Yeah, there's some deep lyrics in there for sure. Kinda like Brian said in "the making of" video, there was a lot of stuff he wanted to write about, but was never able to. Like a ghost had it's grip on him or something. But, now that he has...wow. I think there should almost be a rank these songs how you like them based on sound, and then on lyrics. Might just be me tho...I dunno. But, then again, it might vary depending on the day. Some days you might like the slower/chill songs better, but then some days the faster songs. Then one day you might like a song from it's lyrics better and another day a different song better. Ya know? Anyway...I'll step down off of my "preaching box" now.

Like I said about HCMM, when they were playing it live, I started to tear up a little. You just hear the emotion come through in Brian's singing when he's right there. It's kind of like that "in your face" thing. Maybe... Haha That's funny. You should post a pic of yourself in hippie clothes in the post a picture of yourself thread. But, yeah, that's cool you stand up for what you believe in. Edit: maybe you were just born in the wrong generation. haha

Ya know? Anyway...I'll step down off of my "preaching box" now. Haha, I know exactly what you mean! Different songs appeal to me more at different times, depending on my mood, what's going on, what I'm thinking about, etc. That's one reason why it's so hard to rank them! It would be pretty cool to break the songs down into separate lists for lyrics and music. I tend to think about the lyrics way more (it's the poet in me), so that would really be a challenge! I like it! Ooh, "like a ghost had its grip on him..." I like that! And I think it's very fitting with this album. I am so glad that Brian was able to tap into these stories and emotions and write such beautiful songs. It must have been incredibly draining, especially with Keepsake.

Don't worry, I won't forget!
Haha. Good.
Yeah, it's definitely powerful. I can totally see that. With vinyl it's almost like you're listening to them live.
Edit: maybe you were just born in the wrong generation. haha If I heard Brian sing HCMM live, I would definitely tear up too. It would just feel so personal. And I agree with vinyl sounding more like a live performance. Now I think I need to listen to that record again! Haha, I didn't dress like a hippie! I just had a couple of tie dye shirts. And one of them was a Grateful Dead one, so bonus points for the hippie image! I doubt I have any pictures of me looking like a hippie, but if I come across one, I'll post it for sure. I was definitely born in the wrong generation. I would have loved to have grown up in the 60s, gone to Woodstock, experienced the world changing so much, etc. But...if I had been born that long ago, I wouldn't have Gaslight at this point in my life! Haha, I'm just weird!
