Few thoughts on the UK leg:
I've had a fantastic, fantastic week. Managed to do the whole thing taking just one day off work and getting the most out of my railcard. Fortunately I can work flexibly and have quite an understanding boss
I posted in the Brixton thread that for me, Brixton #1 was the worst TGA show I've seen and that still stands. I don't mean that as a huge criticism - if you see a band multiple times it stands to reason some shows will be better than others and one show must therefore be the worst - but the crowd was probably the worst I've seen and the set had a couple of lulls, notable Too Much Blood and National Anthem.
Things improved with #2 which I thought was much more like it, despite the Blue Dahlia train wreck (which was actually pretty fun). Swapping Too Much Blood for Keepsake and National Anthem for HLAYK was a good idea and the crowd responded better (maybe people just don't like going out on Mondays!).
Manchester and Glasgow I thought were the best shows of the UK leg although their set lists were almost identical. The crowds at both were far, far better than Brixton and I think the slightly smaller venues (particularly Glasgow) helped improve the atmosphere. I was getting sick of Changing of the Guard by Glasgow though and glad it was dropped for Brum.
Birmingham was a great show though as was pointed out in the Birmingham thread, Brian was a bit off colour and not as energetic as he usually is. Some great highlights including 1930.
I can't quite put my finger on it but it seemed like the band was less energetic at all the shows (maybe due to Brian being ill) and to me, it lacked the same magic as the previous tour. It probably has something to do with them setting the bar so high at Koko and also me being less in love with Handwritten but I'd have liked to have seen them rotate the set lists a little more. I thought we'd get Stay Lucky, Bring it On, Boxer, Old Haunts or The Spirit of Jazz at least once. I know we all have our favourites but they could have swapped Patient Ferris Wheel, Queen of Lower Chelsea or Even Cowgirls Get the Blues for one of the above at a couple of shows.
Standout moment at each show for me was Angry Johnny - absolutely stunning version with the Bon Iver cover thrown in the middle. Reminded me of Counting Crows a bit when Adam Duritz randomly sings a cover in the middle of another song. Well worth the ticket price on its own - hope to see it on a live release.
I feel like I've got a huge hole in my life now its all over!

Here's the Angry Johnny version with the Bon Iver 'Blood Bank' lyrics from the Birmingham show. Awesome stuff!

I am! I'm going to both, Thursday and Friday!
At what time are you gonna be there, Cologne people?! How early should you be there if you wanna be front?! Not sure what it's like with the Gaslight crowd, if it's gonna be busy rather early or not!
I'm talking about the thursday show, btw. On Friday I can't make it before 8 unfortunately!

Finally got home from Amsterdam (stayed a couple of days).
First of all, thanks to Enola for selling me here spare ticket!!!
Good show, the band played well and sounded great. It seems Ian is becoming more a full member of the band since he isn't in the back on stage but moved to the front.
The setlist could've been a bit better in my opinion. I missed songs like Mulholland Drive and Keepsake. And I was really hoping for them to play Drive or other old songs I haven't heard them play live. The played We Came To Dance, which I've heard them play at every clubshow of them I went to. And I now I've seen em play Angry Johnny, 1930 and Boomboxes for the second or third time. It would've been cool to hear them play some old songs I haven't heard them play live before. But hey, I'm complaining too much, it was a good show. Nice surprises were Blue Dahlia and Our Fathers Sons. Brian didn't talk a lot but if he did it was spot on. Damn, that guy is funny.
Here's the setlist:
Mae Casanova, Baby! Old White Lincoln The '59 Sound 45 Handwritten Howl The Patient Ferris Wheel Angry Johnny and the Radio (w/ Bon Iver - Blood Bank snippet) Here Comes My Man Biloxi Parish Too Much Blood Boomboxes and Dictionaries The Queen of Lower Chelsea 1930 Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Great Expectations
Encore: Our Fathers Sons We Came to Dance Blue Dahlia Film Noir American Slang (with Dave Hause) The Backseat
And some pictures (not mine):

Back home for a few days after travelling approx. 6500 km for 10 gigs in 11 days (incl. Revival Tour and a Dave solo gig) and I thought I share some of my memories with you. I don't know if anyone is interested but here they are:
Birmingham 20.10.2012 My only UK show on this tour and it was a good one. It was great to reunite with some old friends again as well as making new ones and finally putting some faces to the names Also it was the only time where we really waited outside after the show and chatted a little with Alex L, Benny, Ian and Danny. Absolute highlight was the whole crowd singing the "HEre COmes My Man" chorus throughout the encore break. I still have goosebumps when I think back ...
Amsterdam 23.10.2012 Funniest gig ever. In Birmingham Brian wondered how often he says radio during a gig and well ... in Amsterdam we counted for him. We stood at the side because the stage is quite high at Paradiso and he could see us quite good from stage In the end the count was 19 and they were all laughing a lot every time we held up our signs. Brian gave us the finger (look up Old White Lincoln from that night on youtube and laugh with us) and threw his pick on me after the show. Both with a HUGE smile on his face Great idea of Rebekka and Liz - it was so much fun doing that!
I took a lot of videos in Amsterdam, here's just one of them
Cologne 25.10.2012 Good show with some fun interaction between Brian and Brad
Cologne 26.10.2012 As already discussed not one of the best show but still good ...
Frankfurt 27.10.2012 For me the weakest Gaslight show on this tour but the best Dave show. We had so much fun during his set it was just great! Also a HUGE venue!
Munich 28.10.2012 Together with Vienna the best show on this tour for me. They were in top form, Brian was very chatty and cheeky and finally it looked like they all had again fun on stage. And we had a blast in the front row AND they finally played DESIRE, after we asked for it a "few" times
Before Changing Of The Guards Brian kept talking about twitter and some other stuff, handed the security a bottle of water for a girl who collapsed in the pit and even sweared a little
Vienna 29.10.2012 Best show together with Munich and to be honest I did not expect it to be that way. The audience was mental - during Great expectations somebody lit a bengalian fire in the pit which was utterly stupid! At some point they were talking about covers and then played Astro Zombies by the Misfits to which Dave crowdsurfed. Such a crazy guy

Tomorrow I will be in Berlin for my last date on this tour and I can't believe it's already almost over See you all on the road again SOON!

Great write up of your gigs!
Sounds like the band stepped up a gear after they left the UK - sounds like they were having more fun.
