I've heard that TV and movies help a lot of people learn English, but I guess I never really thought about it for accents. Makes sense! You really do sound like a CA dude though.

That's very admirable. I have always been a horrible pessimist (see John, I have major faults! ), so when I meet people who always look on the bright side, I'm kind of in awe. I wish I could be like that.

It's really difficult, but I try, and I like to think that others can strive off that...even if it does take a lot out of me

See, totally admirable! I am super optimistic around the kids because they deserve to have someone in their life who is always positive, but when I'm not around them, I am very negative, mainly toward myself. I can be really positive toward other people, but with me, the glass isn't half full, it's empty. And I don't know why! I'm working on it though. I think I will always be a work in progress.

You're a great person, and a role model, I'm 100 per cent sure the kids see that, and take from that...it might'nt seem that, but I'm sure they do. You're a beacon on here, and one of the reasons I joined, don't put yourself down, you're a star, and I do mean that.
