Haha, did that song thread get deleted in the 5 minutes I was gone?
the author asked me to.
I figured something like that happened! For the best, I'd think!
yeah i kinda agree, the fan side of me basically went like this when i saw : "fgsdhklvfhaijlshrfuioqwehrfopiwadhfopasidfhiou"
but at some rate it still is a "leak" and i would hate to hear someone got in trouble over it. I told him if he feels comfortable posting some info about it to go ahead. But just to be careful with what gets said.

I'm genuinely going to try not to engage in the attention-seeking conversations because when I do, I'm just adding to the problem. So for that I'm sorry. I think I mentioned this, but on other boards there is a feature where you can ignore a user's posts, but I didn't see that on here (?)
Anyway, I've got no problem when Jimmy's participating in normal talk, but lately the threadjacking has gotten to be a bit too much. And if I'm being honest, I come here enough that it does affect my enjoyment to see the negative self-talk SO much. Maybe I need a Dimestore timeout! ha It's just I'm on here a lot doing other stuff so I check in while I'm doing all that as a break.

Hmm... Interesting. Well, nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to whatever song is posted by TGA whenever it's posted. haha
Yeah, I'd rather not comment on the Jimmy stuff. I feel like I always get stuck in the middle of it, but try to cheer him up somehow. Which, ya know...we can all admit, doesn't work 99 percent of the time. But, hey, at least it sounds like he's trying to be more positive.
But...anyway. Gonna try to stay out of this one.

Hmm repeatedly announcing you don't have any emotions anymore isn't staying positive
So earlier we were all discussing road trips. I know you've traveled for shows- so what was your biggest traveling effort for a concert?

Ah... good question Lorraine! The biggest travel effort was seeing Gaslight in New Jersey. And, that my friend, was epic! haha
But, I would love to see either Gaslight or Flogging Molly play in Europe someday. So... knock on wood.
Edit: In terms of road trips though... driving eight hours to see Flogging Molly in Portland, Oregon because the freeway was flooded on I-5 south of Tacoma, WA. I had tickets and really wanted to go...so due to a natural "disaster" if you will, a friend and I drove 8 hours to see them.

I used to think I was so weird traveling far for certain shows, but it appears I'm not. This is good news.

I flew cross country for the Fest last year....drove (carpooled) seven hours for FYF Fest and usually I take a hour and half long train ride to SF for shows........glad I'm not the only one who puts in all that effort.

I think both of my longest trips were around 7-8 hours of driving. Once for Bonnaroo and once to see Streetlight Manifesto in Little Rock. But I've taken quite a few shorter trips (~2hrs) as well to see bands like Fake Problems, Frank Turner, Andrew Jackson Jihad etc

Furthest for me was NYC->Los Angeles. 4 night concert spree in Hollywood, Anaheim and Ventura. Driving was 6hrs that turned into 8 hrs cus of DC traffic. I said all that already and am repeating it for you night shift people.

It's 10.20 am here and I'm just killing time until I have to go into work for a few hours this afternoon. So I guess being wide awake is necessary. Although bed was so damn comfy and warm this morning.

hey guys, i saw some of the conversation you had with sanam. Are people really starting to get fed up with the posts? I know they irritate me, but ive never stepped in only because no one has stepped forward and said lets stop this. And people would still comment in response to them.
We would be happy to give out a warning, just want to get a final idea.
Sigh, I am kind of getting fed up. I absolutely do not want Jimmy to get banned, but I think he needs to hear from an admin that this thread jacking and negativity needs to stop. He's bringing the quality of the forum down (well, mainly spam, romance issues, etc.) and dragging us down with it. I hope that's not intentional on his part, but either way I hope it stops.

It went ok, it was just really a training and getting to know what we are doing kinda day. Today is just shadowing someone for a couple of hours and then home (yahhoo) I only have to do two more days this week, selling the charity in public, so at least it's a quiet and relaxed enough week.
Plus, this job, gives me the safety net, of being able to look for work closer to home that I enjoy, without having to worry about bills etc. Yes, this kind of job is an absolute worst nightmare, but, any job is better than none
