I am a fan of his rockers, not so much his most recent stuff...I think the last Mellencamp Album I have listened to was Freedom's road.

Same here. I don't dislike his current stuff, but his classics are way better. My favorites are Hurts So Good and Jack and Diane. In the fiction series I have written (still not published, but someday...), the books are set in the 1980s and the main character moves to California from Indiana, and I mention a lot of Mellencamp songs. I really like John Mellencamp!
