Brian Fallon on Clarence Clemons

When The Gaslight Anthem's Brian Fallon appeared onstage next to Bruce Springsteen during the latter's headline performance at 2009 Glastonbury Festival, it marked a rare moment in the fledgling musician's career.

Being heavily influenced by The Boss, joining the E Street Band for No Surrender should have been a nerve-shredding occasion for Fallon. However, as he recalls for Q, it was the late
Clarence Clemons, who passed away at the weekend, who put him at ease.
