Maybe a stupid question, but what exactly does navigate your seas means here?

I suppose it's just finding your way around. The sea and sailing is often used to describe love (with waves crashing and storm and shit) so in this case it's a beautiful way of saying 'if only I were able to to find my way with/to you' or 'if only I knew how to love you/be with you/please you/be together/understand you'. Something along those lines I guess.

The line is, "If tonight my true love, dead, belonged to me"

At least that's what I hear and it makes sense.....

Im from germany and i thought that my english is good, not perfect but good.
So what does it mean? The "Navigate your seas" part I understand... But i cant find a way to match the lines? Is it to take a risk?

It's kind of just a more poetic way of saying "if my love decided to be with me tonight"
