'American Slang' single to premier 23 March !!

I really like it. I don't LOVE it.... yet.

A lot of Gaslight takes time to grow for me and on my first listen I like it, but I don't like the lyrics as much as I do on some of their other stuff.... It sounds a bit slick and not quite as raw as I'd like to hear....

But I'll probably change my opinion in a week or two!

That's what I thought on first listen too! But after a few spins it's really growing on me. Love the way the 'A-merrri-can' is drawn out.

To be honest, this has struck me a lot quicker then when I first listend to '59 Sound. Had to listen to that song a good few times before it connected, and well the rest, is history.

I really really like the new song, hopefully the rest of the album will be as good with a few curveballs thrown in?

It kinda sounds like New Wave era Against Me or am i wrong?

Can't wait to hear the other tunes.
Not really blown away like some of the others, but sometimes songs sound better in context of the whole album

sounds like "cut me to ribbons and taught me to drive" to me

the backing of the chorus sounds like "in a dream i had, oh a little dream i had" too.

Well done Palmer89 (and rkirkpatrick25) for coming up with the lyrics; I could barely make out a word before that.

But I think Brian sings 'while' instead of 'whilst' in "Whilst we’re left with gallows" (some contribution that is ).

So, other than quoting himself, which other lyrics does Brian reference?

I did mean to put while...not sure why I didn't.

As for references, I'd have no idea.

I'm so stoked that the 'cut me to ribbons' line from "Here's Lookin At You, Kid" returns!

Song is great. The lyrics are better than the music, which is just ok.

Fucking a that's amazing.

Well that's where I'm hearing mothers. I don't know though. It's a very tricky line to actually hear completely cause he kinda mumbles the ending ones.

No I heard that to its like a Gaslight, American Steel, Against me mash up.

Still pretty solid I dont love it but I dont hate it has raised my hopes for this album though I was worried it was going to be a massive standard rock album but faith has been restored.

really need to hear this,aint got speakers.thanks cant wait to hear it,will soon.

Not too bad. Don't think I'd prefer it to their older stuff yet though. Maybe once I hear it a few more times. Not disappointed though, was still above average!
