| This has epicness all over it.
Cage is unbelievable to see live. Their lead singer, Matt Schultz, has most energy of anyone I've seen besides Iggy Pop. These two bands together is simply perfect.
Got my ticket under Cage's presale. Good luck to all trying to get it. (This also beats spending over $100 to see them perform the next day at the Festival).

| If anyone's still looking to go to the HOB show, the Ticketmaster site seems to have a fair amount of tickets available. Stubhub even has them for less than face value.
Several amusing "packages" are available on Ticketmaster too - including dinner before the show, a vip box with your choice of "top shelf" liquor, and a hotel room plus meet-and-greet ($279 PER PERSON, yowza).

| I'll be there with my pops, going gambling beforehand. Find us at the blackjack tables.
Wish Cage the Elephant played first. That way I could just see A Place to Bury Strangers and Gaslight. It would make my life a hell of a lot easier.

Their new stuff hasn't been all that great though and the lead singer was a little full of himself when I saw 'em a couple of years ago, but it was still an enjoyable enough show.

| The HOB in AC is not like the HOB in Orlando or N Myrtle Beach.
I was there for Shinedown in 2006 and we had the balcony shaking.
I am sure it can be done by TGA fans

Yeah I got that vibe from the singer when I saw them play with Gaslight in PDX. However they left early and gave my friend their band bracelet to get into the show. So that is pretty neat. Just don't think their tunes are too good.

| I've seen The Roots here a bunch and they usually play for 3 hours (but that's The Roots). You have nothing to worry about. It's going to be a set just like any other headlining set. | |

I think it will be like Asbury Park last December--2 opening acts and a ul set by Gaslight

| I see no reason why it wouldn't be a full set. I've seen probably close to 20 shows here (mostly Social Distortion when they come through), and each show was a full set by the headline act, typically close to two hours. Incidentally, the best tour lineup I've seen was here a couple years ago - Frank Turner, Lucero, Social Distortion - but that's for another thread.
Anyway, I wouldn't be wary of a short set. Although the House of Blues is part of the Showboat casino, it is upstairs and completely separate from the casino area.

| Im from the AC area and have been to the HOB a few times they are all normal shows nothing unusual about them except they are inside the showboat. The only thing I am hesitant about is that a local radio station that has been giving away tickets to the Orion festival has been saying that this show is like a prefestival opener or some wording like that. I hope that TGA plays a full set. | |

| I can see why there was confusion. Not so much because of the venue, but because I thought it was a double bill of sorts, suggesting a shorter than usual set time from Gaslight. | |

| shadow0129 - Out of curiosity - which one? WMGM 103.7?
Also, I'm not a huge fan, but is Metallica known to "pop up" like Bruce?

| The radio station was 100.7 wzxl. I don't think Mettallica are known for quick guest spots. But it is their first festival they have made for themselves. So who knows what they are gonna be up to next weekend. | |

| Just went on the Orion music festival's website. The HOB show is the official prefestival opener so I am weary of how long a set they are going to play. It doesn't seem like a normal show. | |

| And amazingly, there are STILL tickets available. I did two tests on Ticketmaster - 6 tickets for GA standing room and 6 for reserve seating and both went through no problem.
I know it's a big venue, and most people who'd be going already have their tickets for the next day, but I expected this one to sell out.
