Love end of the year threads. What were some of the best shows that you saw this year? Might have to do an edit after the Gaslight show next week.

Dec 3 (tonight): The National, Local Natives in San Francisco.

Favorite show this year was Bright Eyes. Other than that, I mostly saw local bands/ friends bands.

apart from the revival tour, I'd say the National, no doubts. I don't remember the last time I bawled during a song, happened during vanderlyle acoustic. Simply perfect, perfect band.

Well the guys on the Lucero forum, said I had nothing to lose if I contacted the venue. Was expecting a no but got this instead.

The Bklyn Bowl box office will have your name down as OK for under 21 entry. Because it is your birthday (and because you are from New Zealand) you can also invite some friends to the show as your guest. Your name will be on the house guest list plus guests. As long as your guests are 21 or older you can invite a crew of people to go to the show with you and they will all be comped in. Try to keep the # of your guests under 10 if you can.

Millencolin, cool! Never seen them live but it's a band i really like. The Pennybridge Pioneers album is so good! Found it on vinyl last week and ordered it.

That rules about the Lucero show. Brooklyn Bowl is a really nice venue, you'll have a wonderful time!

Show of the year was definitely Frank Turner + Andrew Jackson Jihad + Into It Over It.

Other highlights were The Hold Steady, Lucero (donno if they always do this, but the show I went to was like 75% requests), Brand New, and of course Fest.

Lucero rarely play with a setlist.

My highlights were seeing Two Gallants in a restaurant, Explosions in the Sky closing out FYF fest (awesome lightings + outdoors), the National last night killed it and of course, the Fest.
