| the set was awesome. we got them to play 3 extra songs. during the gaslight anthem set, people were crowded in really tight (it was a small place), so there was a lot of other people's sweat on me. it was gross. and they did that thing where the people in the back pushed forward and the people in front pushed backwards. i was right in front against the stage, so whenever we gut pushed forward, i was afraid id knock brians mic into his face. he probably wouldnt have been too happy. setlist (as i remember it, probably not exact):
great expectations wooderson old white lincoln woody ida called you joe angry johnny and the radio some new one, its not on any of the records 59 sound casanova baby! miles davis & the cool we came to dance blue jeans and white tshirts patient ferris wheel meet me by the river's edge even cowgirls get the blues say you wont (recognize) the backseat heres lookin at you kid senor and the queen 1930
heres American Steel's Setlist:
sons of avarice or dont you... optimist shrapnel love and logic LOADED GUN (i was so happy they played this) rainy day one of these days smile on me EVERY NEW MORNING (even happier that they played this) maria mean streak
so i didnt get home until like 12:30 - 1:00 and i was supposed to go to school this morning. so i got on the bus and me and my friend (who i went to the show with) just got ogg at the school and walked to this house. im getting in a ton of trouble because i ditched. no more shows on weeknights for me! but it was worth it. i didnt do any of my homework for today anyways. ap and ib classes take a lot out of you, and i think i deserved a day off.
and last night they were selling copies of the sink or swim demos, so i got a copy. and a sweet american steel shirt.
so it was all well worth it.

| So I looked into this new song fiasco and here is the out come:
From me to Benny: From: Echo Six Charlie Date: Sep 19, 2008 12:28 PM
Benny, a member of the forum was at the show on the 18th (thursday) and he said you guys played a new song... is this true?
Benny's reply: Nah man. No new song, we may whip out part of "Once upon a time" now...but that's about it.
So, it was Once Upon A Time

| Once Upon a Time is the song that is only available if you buy the album from iTunes (or find it somewhere on this forum)... it is actually a cover of a Robert Bradley song | |

| got soo excited for the new song! i'm seeing them tonight in jacksonville. I did IB last year. both times i saw them i had a psych exam the next day. it sucked having to get up early, but it was obviously worth it. tonight i'm skipping my first chem exam to see them (we get to drop our lowest grade). i know it's a horrible idea, but the show in gainesville tomorrow is 18+ and even though i'm still gonna go, it isn't guaranteed i'll get in | |
