| New or old is fine, although I'd love to find some good modern people. Thanks.
I like Neil Young, Dylan, Nick Drake etc.

i can probly think of more later. i'll get back to you

| Thanks I'll listen to it. Defiance, Ohio is the only one I'm familiar with. They're pretty good. | |

| Seeing as how you like singer-songwriter folk stuff, I'm positive you'll like Joseph Arthur. In The Sun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QotZ7TIaztw
We got a thread about him on here, so I don't know if you've already checked out his music, but give it a listen!

| I second the Sundowner recommendation. Great stuff. Other than that, i don't really listen to any totally acoustic bands, just groups that'll throw one on an album once in a while. I guess I'll listen to Ben Harper every now and then, but, yeah... I think "Streetcore", the last album by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros has a few acoustic songs on it. If you haven't yet, that's definitely worth checking out. | |

| Everyone's got something to add Here's mine. Check out Xavier Rudd. - Code:

http://rapidshare.com/files/129366184/XR_FInT_B.rar This is my favourite album by him. His music is very different from the other acoustic stuff mentioned here. It is very laid back, calm and amazing to listen to when falling asllep at night. The title track, messages and my missing are my favourite songs. Have a listen, it will blow you away. Oh and if anyone else has a listen, tell me what you thought.

| Thank you all for the continuing recommendations. Sam Russo sounds good but I can't find his stuff anywhere...would like to buy it perhaps but it looks like he is very unknown. Just over 100 listeners on Last.FM!
As for the Mescaleros, I have all their studio releases, great stuff. I'd love for Hellcat to come out with a live album but I doubt if it will ever happen. It's rumoured they have other studio recordings and demos that have never seen the light of day...

| I would recommend Elliot Smith as above, Willy Mason, Bon Iver errr Paul Weller , Eddie Vedders into the wild album is pretty much the most amazing acoustic album i have heard. | |

| My mixtape was also pretty much acoustic music; however, most of the bands on my tape were not known for being acoustic bands. | |

| Cory Branan is great. He is not all acoustic but I really dig him here is a link of him performing his new stuff.... His lyrics are amazing and I really like his fresh approach and a traditional guitar style.
http://ardentpresents.com/2009/05/04/ardent-presents-cory-branan/ Follow the link to his videos near the bottom there are quite a few up.
