I would say The Con. I only really started listening to them extensively a few days ago, but that's the album that caught my ear initially.

Oh nice. Even though I like Gaslight more but I think the lead singer isn't too bad either. He's got a unique writing style. What do you think?

I'd definitely agree and would say that unique is the correct word to describe them! I really love their energy, too. Their songs just have a way of creeping up and hooking you in you when you least expect it.

I could never get in to Surfer Blood. I tried to listen to Astro Coast multiple times but just didn't get the hype.

I've been only listening to the new Cheap Girls and this band Code Orange Kids.

Cheap Girls is a 3 piece from MI and they bring out the nostalgic 90's fuzz guitars and songs about drinking. Tom Gabel from Against Me! produced the record. I think it is better than the new Menzingers. I'll let ya be the judge.

Code Orange Kids is this hardcore band from Pittsburgh and they are probably all about 18 years old. Listening to it makes me think like the world is literally ending. It really freaking rules. They just signed to Deathwish (Jake from Converge's label)

Well, I'm not super into em either. But I do like a few songs off Astro Coast, esp Catholic Pagans. :-)

That's awesome. My favourites are Ruby and Communication Blues.

Just got my hands on the new Shins record!

I miss that band! They were one of the first bands that really made me interested in music. James Mercer kicked everyone out of the band though...which is a bummer. Let me know how it is Sanam!

I like it quite a lot. might buy me a copy before spring break so I can listen to it on drive to camping.

I recently forgot Shins existed!! I used to listen to them a lot.

I wouldn't call them a pop-punk band, but to me they sound like a slightly pop-punked up version of Dinosaur jr.

Recently got back into Old Canes. Anyone like them? It's Chris from Appleseed Cast's side project. Aside from vocally they really sound nothing alike. Kinda folky acoustic stuff.

Never called them a pop punk band. 90's fuzzy pop, like the gin blossoms. I do get a dino jr vibe as well. I also get a drinking vibe.
