Gaslight met the guys from Cardinal Sessions today in Duesseldorf and they filmed some acoustic songs. Hopefully the videos will be on their youtube channel soon!

These sound great. Thanks for posting. Elvis has always been my favorite Gaslight song and Cardinal sessions always sound and look fantastic, so this is a pretty great combo for me. 1,000 Years sounds awesome, too.
I'd recommend clicking around and listening to some of their other videos. They do a really great job.

The preshows are full band. That was how they performed the 3 acoustic shows in Germany....

I'm not really sure what you people see in the Elvis performance.
The melody's all over the place (like it usually is when Brian improvises), the chord progression almost seems random at times, and Alex's guitar doodles make it seem like they're not co-operating on the same song but rather playing different songs.

Totally see your points. The things you point out often don't translate to something that sounds good to me (or in general); but it's the raw, arbitrary nature of this take on Elvis that I like.

I honestly don't feel the emotion on Brian's voice in these performances. I like his vocals so much because it always seem so heartfelt and genuine. This seemed off somehow.
Probably just me. I cannot get into 1000 years, try as I might.

Not a huge fan of this version of 1,000 years, but I really do like Elvis a lot.

While I did enjoy these performances, I agree with you about not feeling the emotion like we usually do. I think it has something to do with the fact that he's singing kind of high and with a lot of power like he would at a regular show. And while that works during a rock show, I thing he's better off going lower for the acoustic stuff. At least, in terms of the emotional element. I always prefer the performances where he goes lower.
EDIT: Out of these two specific performances though, this opinion really only applies to 1000 years. I thought Elvis was perfect.
