Yup, it's not too bad when you have friends and an alright pub. Why?
Do you still live in Gothenburg?

No, of course not. That's pretty much all you need to feel at home.
Haven't been living in Gothenburg for two years actually. Moved to Kalmar like a month ago. Just thought I'd let you know.

Yeah, that would be nice!
Yup, doing some English this semester. But that's nothing that you'll notice on here, haha. Haven't decided what to do in the fall yet.

I apologize for this nightmare.
Last night I dreamed my friend was a pothead. She's probably the last person to smoke, given she's asthmatic.

Flogging Molly/Dave Hause/Skinny whatever sold out tonight, just as I was going to get my tickets. Dave Hause came to the rescue on Instagram with a guest pass though.
God bless that man. <3

I went clothes shopping. I saw some cool stuff but when I tried it all on, it all fit so strangely. I should really stop going to that store.

My band page on facebook is up to 31 followers...10 of those I do not even know. Guess I am moving on up in the world. Oh yeah, I will be doing "Here's looking at ya kid" tomorrow night at OMN. Along with an original or two, a bob Dylan song, and who knows what else

Every time I go, it's like an exercise in masochism.

I forgot how small of a man Dave was. I had to give him a big hug and smooch on the cheek. Tonight was a good night.

His set was small, which sucked. But he played pretty much all of his original songs from the 7" series minus Odessa and Meet Me At The Lanes. Only Loved Ones song he played was Jaded, and he played a few bars from Trusty Chords at the end of a song. Sucks, because I loved his cover. Talked to him about it afterwards though and apparently he only played that a few times on the Gaslight tour, so I guess Nashville lucked out. I would've loved to have seen him get an extra half hour and play some more Loved Ones/covers.
Skinny Lister, eh. They were good, but bland, if that makes sense. With all the bands doing that kind of sound they didn't do anything special with it, like the Dreadnoughts or other bands. They work a crowd well though, which is always an amazing thing for a live band. I just couldn't get into the music. Couldn't figure out what the point of the one girl was other than to look adorable and dance around though. She came up after when me and Dave were talking and was an absolute genuine sweetheart though so I can't hold that against her.
Flogging Molly was fucking incredible. Two hours of pretty much straight playing. A few seconds here or there at most. Crowd definitely changed too. Don't know if it's the venue or what, but it always seems to pull in an older crowd too, and obnoxious frat boys and their girlfriends, even at the more punk shows. Worst types to be at a show ever. But oh well, against the majority of the crowds disapproval, there was a pretty nice circle pit with tons of jigging and whatnot. They played the perfect songs to just keep everyone pumped, and a slower tune when it was needed. A LOT of Drunken Lullabies/Swagger material, which I prefer. This was actually my first time seeing Flogging Molly. Sooooo glad I got to. My day was pretty much ruined when I saw it sold out.
Fun show though. My friend in MI is in love with Dave Hause. He's probably only second to Fallon in her book. So I had him text her from my phone. She freaked. We were trying to FaceTime it first but either we didn't have a connection or we were too drunk and stupid to work it. Ran into some little cutie I had a crush on for quite awhile, until I realized she was 33 and in a whole different part of her life than I am. Haha. But she has this habit of getting me drunk enough to the point where I'll start dancing with her, which works out perfectly for Flogging.
Good show, good Valentines. Still can't believe everything fell through.

Sounds like a good time!
I went to that show a couple weeks ago when it hit NY. I went for Dave because I've been listening to him a lot and couldn't wait til Revival starts up to see him again. He's so good. He did that Trusty Chords reference at my show too. I had wondered if he was changing the setlist from show to show.
I thought the same of Skinny Lister. Like they were entertaining enough, but I'm not looking to listen to them really.
Flogging Molly, I only stuck around for maybe 45 minutes during their set because I wanted to shoot them and just get an idea of what they were like. I don't know one song by them (or Skinny Lister). But I had a photo pass, so I stuck around for both.
It's funny you say that about the crowd, because while I was in line to get in (Roseland, NYC), security remarked how they've worked a few Flogging Molly shows and for some reason the crowd had more girls than ever showing up that night. I wonder what's happened that they got more exposure? I joked it was because Dave was opening. The girl in front of me had vaguely heard of Dave but she didn't know why he sounded familiar. Once I said he opened for Gaslight, she seemed to think maybe that was how she'd heard of him.
It is hard to get a crowd going. You'd think it's just natural, but it takes a lot of effort. Dave was really good at that at our show. No one knew him, save a few down front who applauded when he mentioned Loved Ones, but once his set got going and he talked to crowdmembers as he does, they definitely warmed up for him. I was kinda proud of him cus otherwise the only times I've seen him were at shows where everyone's already heard of him.

Dave was so warm, funny and charming when he opened for gaslight in Minneapolis. Can't wait to see him in April when the revival tour comes thru.
