Trying to raise some money to put out a record of my own, please consider helping out.

Its the first pressing of sink or swim, limited to 100 on black. I was lucky enough to grab one on each color before they sold out, so this one has never been played.

the average its sold for in the last two years is $290. havent seen it go higher than 408..

A while ago one sold on ebay for $790..and after that a bunch of people started putting theres up trying to get the same price tag, however it's never really gotten that same price again..

What a waste of $500. I love this record but that price tag is ridiculous, especially since only about 14 bucks of that actually went to the band...

While I agree $500 is a lot for this (and I'd be surprised if he gets it), people collect records and supply/demand dictate prices. Not really sure what the band's take on a record sold 5 years ago has to do with it though.

I'm perfectly aware of the concept of supply and demand, thanks for the lesson though. What I was saying was it's a shame someone who did nothing but buy a record at the right time would be given that amount of money.

Right, not sure it warranted a snarky reply but it's fine.

I still don't see what's wrong with this guy (or anyone else) selling his record for $500 if a collector is willing to pay it. Buying at the right time is part of the game.

Jesus, I didn't realise these were actually going for so much! The most I've ever paid for a record was around £90 and I won't do that again in a hurry! But each to their own I guess!

I contacted the seller to check that it's the real thing (now that there is a black repress) and the matrix details he provided checked out ok (unless they were culled from elsewhere).

As for the price, it's whatever someone is willing to pay for it on the day, depending on how much they wanted and what they believe the chances are of one being offered in the near future.

It's also reassuring that the photo shows the hellbent logo on the label rather than the gunner logo. I predict this gets no bids and then shows back up without a reserve and sells for between $300 and $350.
