Online dating

How do you feel about it?

I met my girlfriend on another forum. I've had local girflriends, but not one that entirely "got" me. She lived over 2,000 miles away but we made it work, it's been about a year. We move into our apartment July 1st ^_________________^

I'm totally cool with it, imo.

I haven't found a significant other through the internet, but I have found my best friend and a lot of my close friends through blogs and social media. It's pretty awesome.

Have made friends/had romantic mishaps with people offline that I met in forums. I used to feel weird about that, but times have changed and it's just another way to meet people these days!


I don't like the dating sites though only because it feels contrived :\

I found Ilaria thru the internets...does that count for something?

I met my first girlfriend online, but I lived in Sweden and she lived in USA. We met a few times but we were too young and confused to make it work.

Obviously 10+ years ago there was a social stigma associated with online dating, however I think now it's pretty common so people don't really care anymore.

There definitely was. My friend met her husband online in '97 but they were both too embarrassed to tell people they met in a chat room back then!

I met my girl through the internet, she randomly added me on FB, clicked like on a random picture, and here we are, planning a family and getting married.

She lived in Austria, I lived in N.Ireland, she moved here almost 2 years ago now, and it's never been better, the first 9 months of travelling back and forth was brutal, but, it was what we both wanted.
