June is ridiculous for gigs. It's like everyone wants to play over here then.
It's not TOO bad, in that we have our own little stall in shopping centres, and we aren't really allowed to leave it, so it's a case of grabbing people when they walk past it, so if they don't want to give, they are going to avoid anyway, so I can live with that.
and June.,..yeah...I really wanted to do the Pirat Satellite festival in Germany, but alas, lack of funds and all that.

I'm jealous that 1) you're seeing Pearl Jam, 2) you're going to Germany. Not fair.

John! Do you mean you shaved your head?! If so, you have to post a picture, and what were you smoking when you decided to do that?
Haha I was actually entirely sober when I made the decision and I'm extremely happy with it now.
It's a long story! It basically amounts to a bad trip which lead to a bit of soul searching and eventually an epiphany, I could tell you more when I get back from school.

This will be my 12th and 13th times for PJ, really thinking it might be the last. Saw PJ in Berlin, that was a devastating gig, was the 10 year anniversary of Roskilde...heartbreaking.
Dan is awesome live, saw him a few times naturally with Alkaline Trio, and twice by himself, and the man just oozes awesomeness, still have his plectrum from Orlando, gutted I might have to miss him in June, but that is life, and there's not much you can do past having a little complaint about it and moving on.
Hehe, that Lady Gaga video just reminded me that I'm bringing Sandra to see her in September, but I'm waiting outside, as the tickets were far too expensive...haha.

Germany scared me, I'll be honest, I'm glad I had Sandra with me. I got to Berlin after the overnight train from Amsterdam, and I hid in the train station until she got there later on that evening (I was in the train station at 5am, she got there at 3pm) I literally didn't have a clue where anything was, or where I was going.
I felt so rude and lazy at that. That really wasn't me, I normally embrace new places, but that learnt me, that I'm ok in places were English is spoken, anything else and I'm screwed.

Aw that's sweet you'll wait outside!
That version of Hair got everyone on the show and all the listeners emotional. The line about her bangs got to me weirdly cus I used to have bangs then when I was getting more confident in myself I grew them out and don't anymore. I never associated the two things (confidence/bangs) but maybe they are related. Though really I grew them out cus they were kinda annoying and also made me look even younger. #sappy
You're already braver than me- I hate any job that deals directly with the public. I guess because I hate the general public.
Harbor- that welcome you got is the coolest thing ever. I always feel totally awkward when I first walk into a party especially when most people already know each other. Sounds like confronting your newness with a sense of humor (the cheering) made it fun right away!

I'm in PJ20 a few times actually.
Berlin was really tough, a lot of things hit home to me during those moments. People I had lost to death, friends that friends had lost to death, and I'm a big supporter of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, so the thought of people going to a gig/football match/event and not coming home...really upset me.
There wasn't many people singing the Alkaline Trio in Dublin when I saw him solo the first time, very strange.

I get what you're saying! I was in belgium last year (flemish belgium, they didn't speak french) and we had the hardest time trying to communicate! People were so nice and polite though, we had fun

I just spent a half an hour going through photos to make this graphic so someone could decipher a tattoo on Ben Nichols' arm. http://lorraine-schwartz.com/BensWeirdTattoo.jpg

That band has a lot of weird tattoos. I swear Brian has one of garlic? http://www.flickr.com/photos/starstruck76/6609633985/in/set-72157628656717999
I was thinking of making a set of photos of just band tattoos from the shows I've shot. Is that weird?

Haha, that totally looks like a garlic.
I don't think that's too weird. It would be quite cool so actually see what tattoos some of the guys have.
