Very good! I am currently obsessed with She Loves You. That's fantastic that you played two originals! Did you get a good response form the crowd? Was there a recording?

I would just make a fool of myself if I sang in public. It takes guts, you know? I think if Jimmy applied just a fraction of that confidence to the rest of his life, his whole world would change. And we have the videos to prove that he has the ability to be a confident person!

| It's two different people...I am fine when I have a guitar and playing something, but without...well, you see the difference....Sort of like the guitar is a crutch to improve myself, doing something I love and am good at. | |

I totally get that. I kind of feel like I'm two different people a lot of the time as well. At work I am happy go-lucky Shannon, a real life Mary Poppins. I'm cheerful, optimistic, easy going, conservative, and 100% G-rated at all times. But that's not really me. In real life I tend to be pessimistic, sarcastic, moody, stressed, very liberal, and a fairly aggressive person, but none of those qualities can carry over into my job, hence the creation of the Mary Poppins side of me. It kind of drives me crazy because I feel like I lose a part of myself in this crazy process, but now it's become a habit. Why do you think the guitar gives you so much confidence? You are yourself with or without it, and I think if you always carried yourself like you do in those open mic night videos, your life would be very different. But I understand feeling like you're two different people, sad as it is.

| It is sort of like Bruce...With the Guitar/onstage...whole different person thing. I mean have you seen his interviews off stage? how quiet, restrained, and insightful he is? Sort of like this. I feel uncomfortable without the guitar being around people for some reason. | |

Maybe it's because you're more exposed that way. People are listening to what you say, not the song you are singing, and they are looking at you, Jimmy the person, not watching a performance. And yes, I have noticed that with Bruce. He has such a great stage presence, but then we get to see another side, a more thoughtful, serious part of him, when he's just talking, when he's just Bruce and not Bruuuuuce! But that's the thing; he's still the same person, just a different part of his personality comes out in different situations. He's not two totally different people. I don't know how to change that in me, so I can't really offer you any advice either. If you figure it out, let me know! I would be a much happier person if I could merge the cheerful, easygoing farce I have going on with my extreme, crazy, down in the dumps self that emerges way too often. I guess I'm just screwed up.

Something like that, Jimmy?
Ah the quotes I have learned from Velvet Goldmine. I need to watch that again soon.
