thanks! it's a bit late to call back now, so i'll try to reach the company tomorrow. that's what i'm thinking, it could be a cool way to get back into photography! we'll see. Smile

sometimes you gotta be a couch potato! i am in awe of people who can go, go, go all the time, like my brother- he's in school full time, works with my dad, plays and coaches hockey which takes him out of state frequently, and oh, yeah, now he's getting into student teaching. it makes me stressed out just to think about it! i need time to just relax or i get super stressed!

I didn't even know they were making a new Chevelle! I wish they had stuck with a more classic style though. I love the late 60s/ early 70s Chevelles.

i feel like sports cars, in general, don't even look that cool these days, they don't look much different from a regular, sedan-type car. blech.

While I'm at work, it's go, go, go all the time. Those kids are so over-extended, I get exhausted just thinking about it. Good thing they are little Energizer bunnies most of the time! The summers are crazy busy for me. I work 10-12 hour days, running all over the place taking the kids to swim team practice, violin lessons, gymnastics, etc., along with at least 3-4 hours of homeschooling a day. By the weekend I am totally wiped out. I don't handle stress that well, and sometimes I just need a break! Thank goodness they are good kids.

Your brother's schedule sounds really hectic! It amazes me when people can keep up with so many things and not drown in the stress of it all. Is he student teaching at the high school level, or with younger kids?

I watched it. The fact that contestants were born after I graduated high school made me want to kick the screen in.

How awkward was the whole "Hey, so like, you have 4 warrants out on you" conversation!

I'm rooting for the Skylar Laine girl whose name is very porn starry.

I don't hate it or anything, I just think they could have done a better job with it. I would be so thrilled if these car companies got back to the classic muscle car styles, the '65 Mustang, '68 Camaro, '69 Chevelle. That's when cars were at their best. And they should be loud like they were back then too! My dad and I were just talking about that this afternoon. I was telling him how I remember standing behind his Plymouth Roadrunner and another muscle car he used to have, and feeling the vibrations through my feet when he fired them up. I was only 2 or 3, but I can still smell the fuel, hear the roar of the engines, and feel the power through my feet into my heart whenever I think about it. That's what a cool car does. It ignites all of your senses.

I know what you mean about the ages of the contestants. They are soooo young! Can you believe there are only 3 of them who were born in the 80s? Makes me feel very old. I was a teenager when the younger ones were babies. I feel like I should start pricing Rascal scooters and nursing homes soon.

I like Skylar too, but my favorites are Phillip (love him!) and Colton. I always like the guys with guitars on those shows. Razz

And yeah, that was weird how they handled the whole warrant thing with Jermaine. I thought Ryan would just say he was kicked off and drop it. Strange... Suspect

I know! I couldn't lose it if I tried. It started with my grandpa. He has been a drag racer for over 50 years and my dad and his siblings grew up on the race track. My dad has been racing off and on since he was a teenager and muscle cars have just always been around, it's a normal thing in my family.

Aw, that's so sweet that you admire your brother like that. I wish I was a more relaxed person. My sister is, she has always been calm and quiet (unless you make her mad!) and I just can't be that way. I wish I was though, it would make life a lot easier!

Livin' in a gangsta's paradise... That's one of my favorite movies. I just love the whole story and the characters are all so real. And I love the Dylan/Dylan contest!

Yep! He's 79 years old and races every other weekend. So does his brother who I think is just a couple of years younger than him. I think my grandpa has been racing for around 50-55 years, and my dad has been racing off and on for around 40 years. It's in the blood for sure. Everyone who takes after that side of the family (me included) has a lead foot. Razz

WATCH DANGEROUS MINDS! That's an order! queen

I have never gotten a speeding ticket, which I consider a minor miracle! When my dad taught me to drive, the first lesson was to watch out for cops. He showed me all the speed trap places where they typically hide and I learned really fast how to spot the unmarked police cars. I spent my whole childhood wanting to drive, and I think he knew I wasn't going to hang out in the slow lane. I'm a good driver, but I'm not overly cautious. I don't get too crazy either (well, not normally), but I will never be caught dead driving below the speed limit. Ever.

I drive the speed limit. Simple as that...too many cops with nothing else to do around here.

Don't you get bored just driving the speed limit all the time? I would. It's too safe and responsible. Whenever I get stressed out, I just want to get in the car and floor it and see how fast it'll go. One time my dad was driving it (street racing!) and it was at 120 and still pulling, but I don't get that wild. I'd end up killing myself.

I think my job factors into it as well. I spend so much of my time being a good, conservative, responsible role model, that I lose part of myself in the process. That's when I start to feel the need, the need for speed! Razz

Have you ever gotten a ticket, Jimmy?

I have never gotten a speeding ticket, which I consider a minor miracle! When my dad taught me to drive, the first lesson was to watch out for cops. He showed me all the speed trap places where they typically hide and I learned really fast how to spot the unmarked police cars. I spent my whole childhood wanting to drive, and I think he knew I wasn't going to hang out in the slow lane. I'm a good driver, but I'm not overly cautious. I don't get too crazy either (well, not normally), but I will never be caught dead driving below the speed limit. Ever.

haha, that's funny! i didn't get a speeding ticket til i was about 21. and then it was pretty bad (or it seemed so, in my head). i was not feeling well and i was going out to dinner w/ friends and just not paying attention, i got pulled over going 87 in a 65, didn't have proof of insurance in my vehicle (or i just couldn't find it, my car was a mess! Razz), and i had been living in California for probably a year at that point and had not bothered getting a California license yet.

Shocked Did you have to go to traffic court? I would have been so upset, I know I would have cried. The only tickets I have ever gotten were a parking ticket and one for expired temporary tags because my license plates were late coming in after I bought my car. I tried to explain that to the cop, but he didn't want to hear it. And I had just started a new job, so I couldn't take time off to fight it in court, so I was out $85 that I didn't have. It was sad!

ahh, that sucks!
i didn't cry, i was upset, but i had my friends with me so i felt better!
i had to go to court to show proof of insurance and a California license, which i had gotten before my court date. then i just paid a fine for the speeding. and since it was my first "offense", i got to take traffic school, and i found some ridiculous "comedy traffic school" online, it was a piece of freakin' cake. Razz
