Wow. I don't expect fans to know every obscure song at a concert but that's just sad. For a band like Green Day, everyone should know the 4-5 monster hits off Dookie.

Went nuts for the stuff off American Idiot and the other album. But before that, lukewarm. Not the band I saw doing the nativity play in Belfast in '92 Sad I understand times change, but man...

Had a nightmare when i saw them in birmingham. idiotic parents bringing like 5 year olds to the show then giving us shit for jumping around and enjoying a gig. no one was near the kids but the look of horror on their faces at the "hoodlums" enjoying themselves was priceless, the stern words however....irritating. Be a parent and KNOW a band and their shows before you decide to recklessly bring kids to an event where theyre trapped and surrounded by thousands of people. the old fans seem to dissapear and no one seems to know anything pre warning. sad times Sad

This relates to Gaslight at Leeds today but does anyone know if there is a site with a live stream of Gaslight's set? I think they are on at 2.30pm.

Best bet for Reading/Leeds footage, is probably from BBC3 who are showing footage from the fest, as there's never been a stream of gigs from there before.

EDIT : Just checked, BBC3 seem to be only showing a handful of bands. Shame. Best check the iplayer.

Yeah I think they tend to only show highlights of the 'bigger bands'. Plus Leeds doesn't get much coverage in comparison to Reading.

Hey All

Attended the Leeds Festival yesterday, the bill for the whole weekend didn't really do it for me, so just bought a day ticket this time. At 90 odd quid was bit expensive, but Gaslight worth the money. Early set, 2:30, played 11 songs altogether.

Great Expectations
The 59 Sound
Mulholland
Diamond
45
Old White Lincoln
American Slang
Handwritten
Too Much Blood
Mae
The Backseat

Good set, but it seemed to me anyway that Brian was going through the motions a bit, didn't really do much talking or banter :-(

He thanked the crowd for selling out the up coming UK leg of the tour.So good to hear that. Good crowd for an afternoon slot too, few people in the crowd around me singing along to the new ones so good atmosphere. There was a girl standing in front of me with her two mates who I think had only gone along to watch with her because she seemed a big fan. This girl then starts crying during Backseat (that song has done that to me a few times over the years!) and they laughed at her and made fun of her. Said girl then runs away from them. I think the crying girl needs some new mates!!

Thanks for that. Interesting to see what a festival/new album/'hits' set list looks like just now.

As for the girl, I hope she finds her way here.

That's cool they played that many from Handwritten. I don't think he talks as much at festivals because of the time limit. They try to get as many songs in as they can.

I hope that girl finds her way on here too! I hate when people who are your "friends" do that. That's why I don't take my friends to these gigs anymore.

I woke up this morning and realised they also played Cowgirls, my brain had obviously been working on that for 24+ hours, sorry!

Yeah I hope she find this place and ditched her horrible friends. At one point one them was taking photos of herself and using her hair as a moustache and the other one was putting on mascara!
