| Like other people have mentioned, Blink have been a huge part of my life musically. They were the first band I fell in love with and opened me up to a whole new world of music. Without them I may not be on this forum today, who knows! | |

| I didn't know Blink was that important but I guess I am just old - into my 30s. Pearl Jam and Nirvana was my generations bands and when Blink came along I didn't, well, blink. I never got into them. | |

| Blink and Green Day are what got me into punk. They seem to get a lot of criticism these days...I thought Neighborhoods was great. And American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. But yeah...I think they're very important for people around my age (18) | |

| Don't get me wrong, they both had their day, but they're sellouts. They both should've called it quits years ago.
In my opinion American Idiot was the most obvious and most pathetic attempt to reach the "rebellious" demographic and it was an utter failure.

| Did posts get moved here? I can't even remember what thread we were chatting in, but I swear it wasn't in the official blink thread. If so - thanks!
EDIT: Oh, Thanks Debonair!

I dunno, I used to think that a couple years ago until I went back and listened to it again and fell in love with it again. I think it told a pretty good story pretty well, and think its great musically. Maybe I'm just really biased because that album defined my middle school/early high school years, and I was a loser with not that many friends (okay I still am :p) so it was just a really important album to me and helped me a lot. Same with Gaslight...they all hold a special place in my heart I guess.

| I've never really liked blink, though I've never really disliked them either. I'll listen to a few songs, but they've got a sort of "whiny punk" sound that I absolutely despise in music. And my friend's...turrible...garage band plays nothing but blink-182 covers and that makes me angry. |

| Yeah I agree...I never really liked them but I definitely didn't NOT like them. They kind of came and went. What I didn't like about them is I swear they started the annoying poppunk thing and annoying ass bands like Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and Sum-41 blew up kind after them. At least that's how I remember it anyhow. I am not going to research that statement for truth. | |

THIS like Simple Plan…singer was in his mid-late 20s and he's singing about his life sucks because his parents grounded him and nobody understands him. I mean come on.

Note JPH's response. Too funny. I know is a recent interview BF said you can't write a song for the radio - well they did and made it big. Thing is they didn't last. Those 14 year olds turned 18 and 19 and suddenly those songs were stupid.

| I am sure everyone has already heard it, but blink released a new song yesterday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yGipyel-3I
I am already a big fan. Sounds like classic blink with just a hint of Alkaline Trio (Skiba being there I think really adds... something? An edge?). Anyways, I liked it a lot!
