I really should pick up some Tom Waits. Anyone have a good suggestion for a starting point?

| That was awesome to read. So glad he didn't leave Bruce off because of the constant comparisons. Loved his write-ups on each artist. | |

I really should pick up some Tom Waits. Anyone have a good suggestion for a starting point? kinda tough to point out a single tom waits album as a starting point since he has soo many and all of em are different. songs by him I recommend are: Cold Cold Ground, Singapore, Goin' Out West, Make it Rain, Chocolate Jesus |

| If someone's interested, I made a playlist on Spotify based on his recommended songs: http://open.spotify.com/user/fuckedforever/playlist/32WGBGFxGRffVWeolaaGTw
Since there are no Dylan songs on Spotify I left it out.

Maybe it's a language thingy, I say not ok to stuff that can be out of line but I still think it's funny and laugh about it. I didn't mean to say "you can't say that" I just thought it was funny but kinda awkward (or something). I hope you understand what I mean, sorry for my english..

By the way, your English is actually very good. I always found it funny that many Europeans are self-conscious about their English-speaking skills considering most Americans (like myself) can barely speak one language.

| That was a really awesome list. Like, that is truly, truly awesome. I wish I could think of better adjectives but that's all I'm coming up with. As a Bruce fan and someone who probably wouldn't have gotten into the band without the Bruce connection, it's cool to read him talk straight about the comparisons and all. | |

| I'm so glad Brian listed The Afghan Whigs / Greg Dulli / Twilight Singers. I've been telling anyone who will listen that I think The Whigs / Greg Dulli is one of most underrated bands / singers in the last 15-20 years. Every CD they put out is a musical journey...and as I posted on Brian's blog---They are in my Top 3 bands to take on a deserted island..hands down. Love them.
Brian said to check out Twilight Singers, and that's cool...but the Black Love CD or Gentlemen CD from The Afghan Whigs just kill it.
