AS vs BIO (poll)

it's Sunday, there's a new song out, and there's little else to do (I wish), so why not have a poll

Bring It On by a fair bit. Hit me at the show last December, and the studio version just enhanced that.

I really love American Slang, but at the moment, I gotta say Bring It On rules so..

prefer bring it on lyrics

Bring it On has so much more power and emotion and just... better written.

It's because it's figuring it that each of those has fraction of votes behind it. Something like 42.432 or whatever. Only shows the main number since that's what counts but yeah.

I like the fact that this poll is pretty split. Means both tracks are that good

I like American Slang better. Bring it On might grow on me, but I'm not to ecstatic about it at the moment.

I'm with simo here. American Slang is awesome, but I want to get up and dance when I hear this song. So pumped for the next album.

voted for american slang,really catchy and has been stuck in my head for days.bring it on is class also and has better lyrics but american slang for me.

Sorry, but this is 0/2 for me. I'm coming to grips with the fact that the new record just isn't my sound. I'm really glad everyone loves it, though, and the band seems happy with the direction they're taking.

At least I'll always have "Sink or Swim" even if I don't like what I'm hearing from "American Slang." (And Nothington's "Roads, Bridges, and Ruins"... man THAT is what I wanted this album to sound like.

haven't heard the new ones but you're right, nothing is ever beating Sink Or Swim (I can say that without listening to the new songs)

Bring it on is the better song im still warming to the new sound but im not quite there yet. Bring it on reminds me much more of a soul song over anything else they have done despite the influences they listed on the 59 sound.

Remember how Señor and the Queen built over 4 songs from the SoS sound to The '59 Sound sound? Maybe that's what this is. American Slang and Bring It On are transition songs and as the album unfolds we'll hear the newer sound.

True I hadnt through of it from that perspective though its not 100% what I was getting at.

What I mean is they cited soul music as being a big influence on the 59 sound songs and how they sounded. Yet its only with listening to Bring it on that I can now clearly hear that influence on their music. But it may just be me.

The 'wait a minute, wait a minute' is definitely from 'Please, Mr Postman' by the Marvelettes (Motown)
