i absolutely hate that brendan guy's voice. i laugh every time he sings, 'cause it's so weird. the only two LA songs I really like are Nebraska and 100 Resolutions. what else should I listen to that Chris sings?

I love it, I've just written a song that kinda completley rips off the start of I'm Like A Record Player

one of my all time top 10 favorite bands.

check out greatest story first, then apathy and exhaustion, then cocktails and dreams and then oh calcutta. actually every single song chris sings is amazing (btw bredan's songs are amazing too) I can't get into their first cd's...

Hm. Well, seeing as the Lawrence Arms are my favorite in the history of y'know histories, I'll take a swing at this. I am positive that Brian Fallon was never in the Lawrence Arms. It's always been Brendan, Chris, and Neil. HOWEVER, Brian was in Lanemeyer for a period of time and Lanemeyer toured with the Larries in 2000. So maybe that's what he means by a "spell" with them?

I could be wrong, and feel free to correct me if I am. That's just my educated conclusion.

Been meaning to get some Lawrence Arms for a while, what I've hard of the Oh Calcutta album is awesome and I love The Falcon. Their CDs are just so damn expensive round these parts, and I'm always a bit dubious about ordering from abroad.

hey, speaking of Lanemeyer, what was Brian's involvement with them? i know they released a few albums, but was he a part of anything except "Alarm"?

i had oh calcutta for quite a while and i quite liked it. then just the other day, i decided to send off for the greatest story ever told (that fat wreck website will be the end of me, its exhausting my bank account but its just so cheap compared to over here though), i got it and it sounds amazing, its quickly become one of my favourite albums.

can anyone recomend what CD to get next and whether its worth picking anything up by the falcon?

I really thought Oh Calcutta! was the best they've done

I couldnt decide between the three albums already mentioned. (apthy, oh calcuta, and greatest story) all good in different ways.

I love these guys. I've heard some rumors that they're in the studio again. Excited? Yes I am. Been listening to a lot of "Apathy and Exhaustion" lately. "Oh! Calcutta!" is a great album as well.

So fucking gutted that they're not playing FEST. When am I going to see them!!

saw on punknews.org that the title of their new EP is "Buttsweat and Tears". i love the Larry Arms, but that has got to be the worst title ever. can't say that i'm shocked by the choice of the title, but i guess it wouldn't have been my first choice.

regardless of its name, i'm sure it'll rock. they'll be releasing it on 7" vinyl through Fat Wreck, i believe, so those of you who've been wanting to own a piece of vinyl w/the word "Buttsweat" in the title, you're in luck! your mothers will be proud.

on a sidenote, does anybody here read brendan's blog, the Bad Sandwich Chronicles? pretty lengthy rants, but usually pretty entertaining. haven't checked it out in a while, maybe i'll do that sometime.

it seems kinda interesting especially about the 'street punk' part and the part where he talks about drug addicts and alkaline trio.

oh! calcutta! is a great album. i might listen to the rest of their stuff

I read somewhere that the title Buttsweat and Tears and the art was intended for their debut 7" ep that never materialized.
