Great Expectations
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PVWIpEvuLA I liked these. I think you have a good voice. I've done some Gaslight covers before but I always manage to screw up the lyrics somewhere (I have an over-reliance on internet-printed lyric sheets). I'd like to do Red At Night if I could figure out the harp or at least get something close.

http://www.mediafire.com/?uzmmzmzzwmn Alright, I thought this was good too. Really good performance. Didn't particularly like the reverb effect on the guitar but if it was recorded in one take I understand the limitations. But the vocals were great.

But the vocals were great. Yeah, well, I started doing The Navesink Banks and the echo sounded pretty good on the guitar for that. I just kept it on for Film Noir. I could have done two tracks, but I guess that was a bit of laziness on my part. Thanks for the listen and compliment, man.

Nice. I like that you altered the melody enough during the verse so it's not a carbon copy of the original. Also, I think it's a nice song choice. I guess there aren't as many Film Noir covers, I don't know.

| Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to be doing some video covers just so I can get on Youtube and have some form of video of me playing songs online. One of these is almost definitely going to be a Gaslight song, so I'll post that here when it happens. These audio covers using the slapback echo are just for fun, and I'll likely do some more at some point. | |

| Just recorded Here's Looking At You, Kid. Not much different from the original, but I think it came out alright.

| Thought it'd be worth mentioning that I played Old Haunts at a gig last Saturday. I frequently pepper my sets with Gaslight covers, but this one was special because to my knowledge it's never been played live before...by anyone. | |

| I like it! Have you taken any voice lessons? It could do wonders for your technique, and I say that because I think you have a great vocal texture and quality. It's smooth yet not milky, and has an edge without being too coarse. A little refining and I think it'd be outstanding! | |

| No, I haven't. And most likely I won't in the near future, for monetary reasons. I will say that my voice could've been a bit more refined on that video. I should've warmed up a bit more first. Thanks for the kind words. | |

| Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I want to get some vocal lessons, but can't afford it. But if you have some cash, if you search craigslist or w/e, sometimes you'll run across University students who can teach you and don't charge very much at all! A friend of mine teaches voice and wants to learn guitar, so I hope to do a barter sort of thing with her. That depends on her finally buying a guitar though :\ | |
