EU / UK tour 2013

Goddamn Im waiting next wednesday. Festival called Rock The Beach in Helsinki, Finland. They perform at 5pm so dont know is anybody there because people have barely get out of work, but I think Im just gonna get fucking insane from first notes they play if Im in good mood. And if Im not I know they're going to cheer me up. Finnish audiences usually just fucking sucks and stare like zombies if they arent drunk. And just stare at you if you jump around and shit. Usually I dont care. Im not there to ruin anybodys show or anything. I just cant help myself like Frank Turner sings "when the band comes in its the only thing ever really know. I wanna dance!". Hope Im wrong and its chill or smooth festival or something like that for lack of a better word. Green Day is headlining so maybe theres people who would like TGA. if those people come early...

And in the same day theres Finlands propably most famous punk band called Pää Kii, Stone Sour, Queens Of Stone Age and as I said Green Day. So pretty good, Im not complaining. Its the festivals first usually these new festivals (in Finland)are pretty much disasters or so they say. Well see. Anybody from here coming to see that c

Well. It was kinda what I wrote earlier. People staring like zombies. Sometimes even clapping their hands...but I had some fun so thats enough . Of course there were some other people moshing and stuff, but generally people probably just woke up. Or didnt know the band and just listened carefully. The stage ridicously big. Probably the biggest festival stage I have ever seen. At least highest. Probably because of Rammstein which headlines the festival some other day. So the vibe was quite different to the last years festival gig when they played smaller stage and Brian was just being Brian (making jokes and stuff) so it felt like a club gig. Especially compared to this. Now it was all just huge and Brian made sarcastic comments like "Queen Of The Stone Age are playing next so maybe you have some fun with them..." and rolling his eyes when he said that. Dont get me wrong. I laughed my ass off when he said that, but was kinda bummed for them. They looked pretty tired and bored when they finished, but then again it was like 30 celsius (which in Finland was the hottest day of this summer. and I loved it!) and the sun was shining straight to the stage. They played good, (Patient Ferris Wheel is probably my favorite song live and is there any better summer song than Blue Dahlia?)but this was the least good gig from 4 gig that ive seen and I think Im not going to see them anymore at a big festival like that...

If its Brian you want to see I wouldn't bother waiting as he'll only appear by chance as he doesn't like puposefully going out to meet fans anymore. Alex R I have found to be a little shy but the other three can usually be seen. Sometimes you have to be prepared to wait over 2 hours after the show because they get showers and pizzas and just hang out for a bit.

As do I. If you can meet him by chance before or after a show I'd imagine he wouldn't be too rude but he wont put himself in a position where he's talking to fans after shows voluntarily. Only if the situation cant be avoided I guess.

I think it depends on his mood. Like sometimes he'll put up with it, sometimes he maybe just really doesn't want to. I know someone who said Brian politely said no to a picture but said he'd love to chat about whatever.

Quick update on the 'meet the band' situation. Yesterday after the Bielefeld show the whole band and crew came outside and stayed there for about 1,5 hours. All of them were patiently taking pictures, signing stuff and chatting with everyone. And 'all of them' includes of course Brian.

So the next time any of them decides not to come out before or after the show please keep in mind that it's not a general thing. Maybe he's not in the mood for it, busy with other stuff or just tired. I'm sure we all can relate to these feelings.

I do hope though everyone gets the chance to meet all of them once as they all are really nice and extremely funny guys - band and crew.

well said Manuela , not many bands come out to meet the fans and if they do they charge money for it . Sometimes it feels like people are putting to much pressure on the band and esp Brian. When we was talking to Brian in Dresden , my wife was really quite unwell, Brian was so concerned for her he raided the bus for drinks and offered chocalate bars , he was happy and relaxed, but he cant be like that all the time, how hard is it to be on the road on a bus and not even get chance to see the places you have visited. No one can be in great mood all of the time for all sorts of different reasons.

I also visited the show yesterday in Bielefeld and I really enjoyed the gig. Unfortunately, probably my only TGA-gig this year
