| Interesting... they've been opening with Great Expectations at most of the shows. Nice to see them shake it up... | |

i wrote a review I just read your review. First of all thanks for telling us how the show was! It's a pity that the crowd was that stagnant and I must admit I'm surprised. I just saw them a couple of times here in Europe last month and there was a lot of movement! It was exactly like you described how Gaslight shows used to be. And I definitely prefer those crazy crowds as well. So I hope it will still be crazy here in the fall...

| it was surprising... not many people seemed to know Sink or Swim songs, but went crazy for the American Slang stuff... American Slang itself may have gotten one of the loudest reactions | |

| It was my 11th time seeing them and I have to say it was my least favorite show. The crowd was pretty stagnant. It seemed like Brian was in a bad mood or something, I'm not sure.
Don't get me wrong, it was still fun, but there was definite tension between Brian and some of the crowd.

I'd imagine he was frustrated that nobody was moving, and then everyone was just yelling out requests when he was trying to chat it up... I thought the banter was great though... $40 for two cokes lol

Does anyone think that's the reason why the show was so "short"? I'm not going to complain about 21 songs but it seems a bit shorter than they were doing in the most recent stint in Europe. Also, on the topic of "requests", since this is supposed to be for the fans - I assume the best way the band might see one would be to just tweet the day before/of a show if there's something we really really want?

They played everything on the printed setlist, so the crowd didn't cause them to skip anything. Better crowds tend to get songs added though. I don't know if Brian's still doing it but in 2010 he told me he checked Twitter to look for requests/suggestions. It may be coincidence but in Milwaukee they replaced a song in the encore with the two songs I asked for. Worth a shot.

| One of my favorite bands played 14 songs for their headlining set. So anything above that is ok in my book! | |

Maybe they could set that up in the forum that they're gonna have when the fanclub site is up. Just one area where people can put what they want and if they have a reason for it or something. It'd be a useful way for them to get that kind of feedback. And then maybe the fans would shut up at shows.

| I hope they never start taking requests from a fan forum, or else it just turns into a pissing contest. Play what they want, and are comfortable with. | |

I didn't say they had to take them. Just let everyone bitch on there rather than at the show haha.
