Our Own Official "Chant"

Hey guys so I was thinking, you know how at the Bouncing Souls shows there's the tradition of chanting Olé and at the Bruce shows they chant "Brruuuuuuuuuce" right before the band comes on? Well I was thinking Gaslight doesn't really have an official chant.

At the Atlantic City HOB show people were chanting "USA" (not sure why, haha) and Brian seemed to get a kick out of it. Sometimes I hear "Let's go Gaslight" or just "Gaslight Anthem"...any suggestions for some tradition we could start?

You never know if the crowd started chanting this between them going off and coming back on for the encore it may persuade them to play it! I really hope they haven't retired it completely. It's because of the chant at the end that this song works so well live.

"DSS! DSS! DSS!"

The USA, USA goes back to the 45 video shoot. The crowd was alternating between "Lets go Devils" and "Lets go Rangers" (who were stuck in a playoff hockey battle that night). Someone started chanting "USA" instead, and everyone joined in...

I'm guessing whoever started the USA chant at the HOB was at the 45 shoot...

At HOB, we also were chanting "We want gaslight" and "gaslight anthem"!

But I like "Dime store SAINTS....dime store SAINTS!" as a chant

We did "gaslight anthem" last night on letterman between the last song and the encore. I like the idea of using "it's alright man..." but it's longer so it's harder to get a chant like that to keep going in unison i think. especially when it's just us starting it. but you're right, i wish there was a "Bruuuuce" equivalent b/c that one is one syllable and easy haha. and more fun than just screaming the whole time. I'd be game for trying "It's alright man

I'm just not sure one that long would work. Maybe if all the DSS people try and stand together, their voices will then be stronger and other people might pick it up. But if you've got 20 people all over the place trying to start it that could be difficult given people won't necessarily know what you're doing.

Maybe we'll all just try one chant per tour. Chants could be voted for on here and if one catches on, then we'll stick with it

People managed to get the 'Its alright man..' chant going at Southampton, UK on the American Slang tour. I'm all for that one.

How about a 'Gossip Girl' chant for Brian too?
