Sounded like it could have been on either of his previous two studio albums to me at first listen, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Can't wait for Chuck's upcoming releases (his new solo album, new HWM EP, and a HWM full length expected next year)!!!

I already purchased my preorder of Chuck's solo album "Covering Ground". It's a limited green vinyl (only 300.....I believe) and comes with a "mini harp" (harmonica). You can downoad a new track off of the album "Nomad by fate" which sounds great! I've heard a few tracks (most are live versions) off of the new album and I must say I'm super stoked for this release!!!

I'm feeling pretty good about HWM's new releases as well. Being honest, for as long as I've listened to punk rock (and various subgenres) I just never could get into HWM. They were always a band that I really wanted to like, but for whatever reason, their sound just didn't appeal to me. However, the new EP does! I think it sounds like a more mature HWM all they way around. Plus, while I never got into HWM as a band, I've always loved the solo projects that the members created when they brached out (Chuck's solo albums, Chris's stuff, and even the draft), so I think that in some way the new HWM is going to be influenced by the members solo stuff, which is probably why my ears are more receptive to it. While that's great news for me, I'm not sure how the diehard HWM fans (attracted to their old sound) will like the new stuff.

I can't wait for the new album to come out. I'm so glad they all found the time to get together and make an album. It's been too long since the last record.

Same here man! I hate to say it, but I actually think I'm a little more excited for Chuck's "Covering Ground" album than I am THC releease. The iTunes previews of "Covering Ground" sound pretty damn good! Either way, I'm eagerly awaiting both albums (can't wait for my preorder packages!!!) and I'm just super stoked and grateful to have back to back releases by two of my favorite artists.

I'll probably purchase this split as well.

Is it out on the internet yet? I assume I'll get my CD in the mail along with Elsie sometime this week.

EDIT: Okay I found it but I can't pull myself away from Elsie. Currently neglecting Chuck Ragan, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Owen, Banquets, and the new Run for Cover comp. I swear this is the most awesome music to come out in like a one/two week span.

I have it now! I'm on track 4 and it sounds really good so far! Hopefully I get one of my vinyls this week considering I ordered all four available (green, blood red, off white, and black). I love Chuck's lyrics......I can relate to them so much more than THC release. But I still absolutely love THC! Great week for music!

I only listened to it once and I was kinda doing things while it was playing....need to sit down and listen to it to have a proper opinion.

i understand. my expectations aren't too high though with the couple of tracks i've heard previously... they're good but not too awesome... so i hope the full album will change my mind!
