Algernon is breaking up??

Also Measure [SA] called it quits also....glad I got to see their last show at the fest.

Nah, just grown ups and snowing. I said they better not break up because they are all basically the same band.

Kinda bummed I missed their set. But that burrito I enjoyed instead was fairly good. Not last Measure SA show good, but still good. Did get me pumped up for that Holiday Inn soiree, and I was thinking of staying sober that night. Glad I didn't do that at all!

Sorry for hijacking your thread almighty Harbortown. Band breakups bother me. But burritos can cure almost everything that ails you.

Well thanks for the offer. If there's ever a last Algernon show then I'll be there haha. But I don't think they're breaking up anytime soon. This was on their FB page the other day

That kinda sucks though, I mean on the day ment for gorging yourself you won't be able to eat anything. Hope the surgery is at least after.

not that many rock n roll singers curse/swear in songs these days anyway.

yeah i meant just in interviews and stuff when he's talking. that would just be weird if he did it in songs. that's what we have frank turner for!

while i respect his not using "curse" words to get his point across, some of us just "curse" not to get a point across but as a way of speaking. and for people who get offended by that, it's just a fucking word, you allow yourselves to be offended by letters.

I'm not 100 percent sure, and I'm really too lazy to go search for an audio clip, but I think he's said it. Granted offten but I think its out there somewhere, if you really care.

There comes a point though where just "curseing to curse" is really just immature and doesn't make you look respectable. I understand (and being one) a teenager who curses, its just that age of quote " rebellion". But there comes a time where you get older and you start to realize how cursing actually makes you look stupid. I'm not perfect, I still curse off and on as standard part of my communication, but I've noticed it cut back as ive gotten older. I mean when I'm having a conversation with someone who is just rattling off "fuck" and other slang, I kinda looses respect for them abit.

Cursing can be an art in and of itself. But I'm not sure it would fit the vibe of Gaslight's music all that much. But that said if Brian wants to make a hardcore album and yell "fuck" on every track, I'd be okay with it.
