billboard signs

has anyone else noticed billboards of TGA popping up? I've spotted 2 in London now, 1 in Hammersmith and one outside Waterloo station advertising the '59 sound.

Wondered the same. On Friday night I saw one around Old Street, and then another near Kings Cross. At first I thought the Old St one was just an old billboard they'd failed to take down but now I've seen some more and it definitely looks like there'a renewed push at promoting The '59 Sound!

that's the one i saw at waterloo yeah. wanted to get a pic with it but a) i was on a bus and b) didn't have anyone with me to take it and i thought they'd think me a freak if i asked a random in the street!!

Wow that's a lot bigger than I expected. I thought you were just talking about the size of poster you usally get advertising films on the side of bus shelters.

Maybe they're only in London because of the whole Hyde Park/Bruce duet thing??

tomaldo - someone told me about the one in hammersmith and i think that one's smaller so when i saw this one i was suprised at how big it was too!

It's funny how it says "Out now", while the album has been out for over 1 year

Even though it implies it just came out, i guess it still makes sense. Hopefully it helps album sales and we end up with more people on the forum!

it's crazy that there are billboards for gaslight overseas. we sure as hell don't have any of those here. well, I guess i can't speak for the whole country, but we sure don't have them in my neck of the woods. that's way cool though.

Does seem that the album is getting a big push in the UK, strange with no dates ahead or even a planned single release (beyond "Backseats" getting airplay). I did wonder if they were going to reissue or repackage "The '59 Sound" which seems to be the way of generating incresed sales???

Imagine how cool something like that would look on your wall at home- scaled down, of course. I wanted to do something similar when I decorated my room but it wasn;t really feasible to paint an album cover or lyrics all over my wall!
