Went to the local county fair with wife and 2 daughters (5 yr and 3 yr) last night and rode the big ferris wheel with them, while singing "Ferris Wheel Lights on". Haven't been on a ferris wheel in 10 + years, but of course, the only reason I did last night was b/c of Gaslight. And now that's my thing with my daughters--we will ride the Ferris Wheel whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Am I the only one to do this?

Your local county fair is a wonderful slice of Americana, love it.

No proper Ferris Wheels near me, unfortunately.

Not too sure - just assumed boy was missing girl and was "impatient" to get her back (or find another) but the never changing ferris wheel in the background was not in a rush and was quite happy to sit waiting.

Probably not right but that was my assumption!

yeah, i always thought of it as like he's always rushing, waiting and restless for something to happen, but the ferris wheel's content to just quietly and patiently turn

Maybe it's patient in that it's not going to disappear, so whenever they get around to riding it, the wheel will still be there.
