It was such a wonderful night, great show and a beautiful surprise!
First of all The Sharks were very good. Although the sound wasn't that good, I enjoyed their Clash vibe. They also played I Fought The Law. Was very solid!
Then Chuck Ragan followed. He was very good too. I love his style. A nice mix of Elvis, Eddie Vedder and a very good musical style. I liked it a lot. After that the big show. The Gaslight Anthem.
It was so good. A very cool setlist and almost 2 hours of playtime. Here is the setlist: Jazz Boxer Dance Diamond Haunts Lincoln Cowgirls High Lonesome Film Noir Elvis Wooderson Blue Jeans Chelsea 1930 Ferris Wheel Miles Davis Bring it on Great Expectations '59 Sound
Then the encore: They started it with a new song called Goodnight, Irene. It was played by Chuck, Brian, Benny and Chucks violist. They announced a small revival-tour for next year when Alex Levine is getting married. And after that they came to my request Red at Night.I put on the sign: "I got my harmonica with me". He saw it and said he didn't have a harmonica holder. So I said: "I can play it". He agreed and there I was standing on stage next to Brian Fallon himself. He checked if I had the right key (g), I was prepared, so it was. He asked my name and we started playing. It was unbelieveable and unforgettable. It's so surreal, I frigging playied a song with The Gaslight Anthem! The crowd loved it, at least, they all applauded loudly. After we had played the song, he said the band would sign my sign and give it back to me after the show. And so it was, Ian came back with the signed sign, the setlist and two guitarpicks (pictures will come later). He told me it was the first time ever, a visitor of the show played with the band. I think it's a pretty good line: "The Gaslight Anthem, played with Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Ragan and Stefan Kollee!" Ian also said: "I will remember you: The guy who played harmonica. When we come around again, you just have to shout my name and maybe you could meet the band." It was so cool! I'm still finding it hard to believe I played a song with Brian, but here's the evidence:
After this part they went on with ther set with American Slang, Rivers Edge, Stay Lucky, Here's Looking and as usual The Backseat. Such a beautiful night! At last, I waited for a while at their tourbus. But when they didn't come within half an hour, I got home and fell asleep with a huge smile on my face. I will never forget this night! Rock 'n Roll!

So I guess the question is, who has the cooler story; Stefan or Scott (e7c)?

Great stuff, Stefan, and even better that a DimestoreSaint got to be the first fan to play with them. And kudos for being bold; it pays. I've now favourited the video on the DimestoreSaints YouTube channel.

That. Is. Awesome. Congrats, dude!
Were there any specifics to what they announced for the Revival Tour next year?

What an awesome show! You could see the guys were having a lot of fun. First I thought Chuck Regan joining tga during 59 Sound was the highlight of the show, then the new song by Brian, Benny, Chuck and the violinplayer was the highlight but the true highlight has got to be theBaseman's performance! The only thing what could have made this night even better were a couple of more "old" songs, but I shouldn't complain after a show like this!
Two video's of Goodnight Irene:
Cool vid with Brian talking about Youtube (apperantly he's so right), and Chuck joining in during 59 Sound...

They talked about october & november for the revival tour, if I'm not mistaken. My pick from Amsterdam is a simple black Jim Dunlop pick.

I think it's really cool that they actually check the internet footage ;o) And apperantly he doesn't mind! I've read somewhere that Brian said, he doesn't mind if someone records a show because he thinks it makes a great memory of a good night. As long as that someone doesn't try to make money out of it and sells it, it's fine by him ... sorry ... can't find the link to the source right now ....

I've read about it too, somewhere... I think it's cool I can check back vids from last night and other past shows but I just can't imagine why someone would take the effort to see a show trough their camera. If I go to a show I don't want to be botherd with filming songs and not fully exprerience the moment like I should.

Funny, I was about to post exactly the same thing on Facebook ;o) referring to a picture my husband took on the Lady Gaga concert a few nights ago - picture on Flickr - where all you can see is cameras. It seems that nobody can enjoy a show just by watching it instead is desperate to take evidence home with them. On the other hand aren't we all thankful to them who film and take pictures so we can remember those great nights

Was such a great show, Chuck and Gaslight were both amazing. But seriously, when Steve got up the stage, everyone was smiling. I'm so fucking jealous, it's not even possible to come with words for it, but man, the whole place was just so fucking proud of the kid. "This is my friend Brian" haha epic.
Was cool to talk to you a bit after the show as well, spoke to the singer from Sharks too, nice guy =)
Great show, too bad we stood for 20 minutes in the rain for fucking nothing though haha. Sucks that you stood even longer for nothing, but hey, you ain't never gonna forget this and neither will they, trust me.
Stay lucky bro.

On a different note though, I believe Brain said that the band will take a somewhat of a break because Alex Bass is getting married, so Brian and Chuck (and most likely other awesome guys like Frank Turner) will do another revival tour (in Europe next October he said) and release some 7" records together next year. Don't know if I heard it all correctly (for my ears were filled with beer after someone decided to empty half a gallon over my head) and if this is 'news' but that's what I got out of it.

really cool for you to play with them Stefan. You handled it real good
Good Night Irene is a great song. I thought it was going to be a Lead Belly cover because of the title, but apparently it's a new Brian solo song. Can't wait for the stuff with CHuck

It's not really a solosong by Brian... this is a song he has written with chuck, benny and the violionplayer (I don't know his name).
