This song is truly a masterpiece and I really wish Brian would pursue a solo project on the side

That said I've listened to this song a million times and never realized that was amazing grace at the end of the song. Wow thats well amazing, my girlfriend had to point it out to me before I figured it out.

I wonder if any of Brian's solo songs will be incorporated into TGA. When Brian shut down his solo myspace, he posted something on his Twitter saying that just because the myspace is gone doesn't mean the songs were thrown away.

When I was at the Charlotte show, the guys had just come off stage and Brian asked what I wanted to hear for an encore and I asked if the entire band could play The Blues, Mary but Brian said he doesn't even have that song down yet!

he's played it solo live several times. he was just saying that as an excuse to not play it. in Cleveland some girl kept yelling for Sweet Delta Blues and he said he forgot how that song goes, which I guess is more reasonable, but I still doubt it's true

A little bit more info. on The Blues, Mary (the first question was merely my curiosity, not sure if anyone else was wondering the same) Also something I didn't know about Tin Pan Ally, thought you guys would enjoy this.

hey how's it going...

1. every voice on all the solo stuff is me, i lay down one vocal and then I do
a
bunch of harmonies with myself. i try to change my voice as much as i
can with each harmony. I've never done any work with chuck.

2. and yes, it is amazing grace.

if
you listen really closely in "tin pan alley" when it gets quiet in the
bridge, you can hear the beginning of the 23rd Psalm as well.

take care.

actually 2, and both are about The Blues, Mary heh

1. Is that Chuck Ragan that's singing in the background?

2. Is that Amazing Grace in the background of the last chorus?

Keep on doing what you do best! (which I hope is making music haha)

Think I'm going to resurrect this topic because I think we've been singing the wrong lyrics in the chorus. Isn't it...

"...Swirling around my head like the dreams in Dorothy's shoes..."

When you listen to the song, you can hear the "s" in "dreams". It's definitely plural, no?

I agree it's plural, but i hear it as "...your dreams...", i.e. 'your' not 'the'. He sings it quick, so it sounds like 'yer/ya', but i think that's right. Plus "like your dreams" makes more sense than "like the dreams" in the context of the lyric.

IMO. Smile

OK - I can buy "your dreams." Does make more sense in context.

Might be a stretch, but some parts in this song remind me of other songs in Get Hurt, like the reference to August/September or the "4th of july".

Also the mention of Boxer, but probably because Brain made mention he was boxing when he was a kid.

Learn just how to run, remind me of born to run.
