I've listened to about 2/3s of their new album and am loving every second of it. I guess it is really to each their own. I was the opposite of most people though. I only really liked half of OTIP and loved every song on Chamberlain Waits and their past stuff. I can't wait to get this vinyl in the mail. "When You Died" is so fricken good. I almost dropped a tear.

This record, all the guitar parts and lyrics sound really weak to me. I can't get into this. I could have enjoyed the record if it was only big chunky guitar riffs like In Remission, but it doesn't even come close. Once again it's a let down.

I dunno, I also like it because of who they were influenced by for this album. I can really hear the Smashing Pumpkins influence on this album.

I'm on Nothing Feels Good Anymore in my first listen and I just can't get into Tom's songs. Definitely liking a few of the Greg songs, though. This one and especially Where Your Heartache Exists. Greg has always been my favorite but on the last two albums I feel like the divide is widening, which is a bit unfortunate if they keep splitting the song totals.

This record is really, really great. Love the production, because its grittier. OTIP was way too clean for me. Best from them since Chamberlain Waits.

I can really hear the promise ring on this record. Which ain't a bad thing, but that production ruins it for me.

Where Your Heartache Exists is still tops for me. And In Remission and Nothing Feels Good Anymore. Real mid-90s emo vibe to this record. It was always in their sound but it's loud and clear on this record. Don't really care about any of the Tom songs.

Transient love sounds like a Elliott song. It's like they took the whole mid 90's emo catalogue and wrote one single song in reference to each band. Feels weird. I hear some promise ring, some save the day, some weezer, Elliott or sense field in some of the songs.
I still hate the production a lot. It's all loud and clear, Â it leaves me cold.

It took me quite some time but I'mgetting into the songs. I really like nothing feels good anymore. The lyrics are really cool.
I'm getting into rodent for the lyrics too.
The talk is strong and nervous. I like it too.
I really don't want listen to anything else anyway.

I see that more are getting into this album with further listens which is promising but my first reaction was very much the same as a lot of people. Whilst I actually thought it was better than some of the comments made me think it would be, it doesn't come near 'OTIP' for me personally.

"where your heartache exists" is my jam.
In my opinion this album has it's ups and downs. 7/10 overall.

Album's growing on me big time. Now that I have the lyrics sheet I like the Tom songs a lot more (Hearts Unknown especially). My Friend Kyle is the only track I'm not really feeling. All in all a solid follow up if not as life-changing as OTIP.

Album grows nicely.
Still don't care for Tom's stuff, but the album as a whole for me is on par with Chamberlain Waits.

Don't currently love it as much OTIP or CW but probably just haven't listened to it enough. Currently would probably place it third on my yearly album list behind TGDB and Soulmate Stuff. In Remission is up their for best menzingers song though.
Also greatest music video or greatest music video?

I thought the new record was really mediocre when it was first out but it's really grown on me now, great record.
Can't wait for their dates with The Smith Street Band over here later on in the year.

The problem I think is that it's over-produced. The songs aren't horrible, but with the way they come off, they sound cheap and like emo-pop-trash rock lol
