| im posting for the first time because i saw em for the first time tonight! i am so in love with this band. i couldnt even tell you which songs were played and which werent because it all went by in such a blur. i was honestly surprised when they left the stage for good because it seemed like they were only up there for a few mins. my voice is so hoarse though. and something freakish happened...right after the show, i noticed the ring on one of my fingers wouldnt come off...at all... i was tugging at it and it wouldnt budge, in fact it only tightened...to the point where it was turning blue and i was starting to believe that i would only have nine fingers left...finally some nice man found some wire cutters and extracted my finger...but it is still just barely returning to a normal color, sort of. anyways...fan fucking tastic show. cant really find any words to describe it. probly the first show ive ever been to alone, but there was no way i was going to miss them and i am SO glad i didnt...anyways, i should go to bed now cause im off in a couple hours to ALBUQUERQUE to see em again SO EXCITED. | |

| Yeah haha...I probably should have sobered up and written a more coherent post...
But the show was fantastic, they played "Once Upon a Time," "Blue Jeans," "Film Noir," probably the usual songs, mostly off of "59 sound"...but the show in Albuquerque was even more fun.
Drove seven hours, got there a few hours before the show, and as I was driving past the venue (rockin "the 59 sound" in my car, of course) I saw Alex L. sitting out front. We parked and walked around awhile before the show started, I knew Alex L and maybe Brian were sitting right out fron, but I felt kind of awkward about going up there to talk to them...even though I know theyre really cool and laidback and talk with their fans all the time, so yeah.
We were sitting on the patio in front of the little bar they were playing at, and one by one, they all walked around out front. I was just surprised, I guess I thought they were bigger than that, like they wouldnt be able to walk outside the venue before a show without people being all over em.
Anyways, I saw Benny and said hi, he said he remembered me from the night before- "Social D shirt, right?" I was surprised but then I remembered that when he was setting up his drums the night before, me and the girl next to me shouted out his name, and he looked up and waved.
So the show started, lets see, they played a lot off "59 sound" again, but they also did their cover of "Left of the Dial," "Drive," and the very last song, Brian did an acoustic "Diner." He talked about how bad his allergies were and that Alex L would taunt him by singing really high like a kid, when his own voice was suffering. Before they went into "59 sound" he talked about an old friend from when he was a little boy, and how one day he decided to try and look him up online and see what happened to him and didnt find anything, and then came across the obits and saw his name there and that he had ended up in new mexico.
Afterwards, I got a picture with Brian, had him sign my poster and talked to him for a minute, then Alex L came over and I asked him to sign my poster, too. He was talking about what a dick the security guards were. I think they were giving Brian a hard time for not having his ID and trying to get a drink, from what I heard. ...anyways...then I began my long journey home...fourteen hours round trip in a twenty four hour period...but so worth it. Theyre just so damn good live, and so cool with their fans and genuine. Cant wait til the next tour...

That was pretty much it, we started walking bar to our car...and then this crazy little man that I met at the show wanted to go back into the bar and see if he could find Alex R and get him to sign his cd, and long story short, he had Alex come over and say hi to me. Haha- I was kind of nervous to go up to him because he seemed a little quieter than the other guys, and well, he's really good looking, too. So yeah...talked to him for few minutes, asked him how Coachella went cause I know he loves the Cure, and then Benny came over and he was like "Hey Stephanie hows it going"...anyways...then they had to take off for the next show. | My first time was a month or two ago, here in Dallas at The Granada Theater. AWESOME show, but I'm sure you all already know that! They played with the Heartless Bastards too, who were great.

| Sorry, I don't really remember! He thanked both bands that were in the show (I forget the first one), but I don't recall if he said their full name... I'll ask the folks that went with me. They might recall. I often just call them the Heartles 'tards, to censor myself | |

I'm gonna see them @ a festival for the first time next week. I don't care though. I'll be up the front. I'll be singing along to all the words with my favourite band. They'll put on a great show. All my friends will be raving about this new band afterwards. It's gonna be special.

| The first time I saw Gaslight was this past April @ Antone's in Austin, TX. When we were moving down here, I was checking out the venue schedules and was stoked to see they were playing a few weeks after moving there, but I didn't get tickets til the day before. I was considering getting them at the door to avoid the online fee, but lucklily I bought them online because the show sold out. They were amazing and played almost everything from The '59 Sound, and closed w/ "Angry Johnny & the Radio". Pretty epic. Seriously, I would pay twice what I paid to see them again. Walking out of the venue, the night seemed cooler, and everything seemed right with the world.
To answer the question, he did thank the Heartless Bastards by name.
And I have to say that I just read this quote and it made my day:
"The Bouncing Souls are up next! If you don't go see them, you're f****** retarded!" - B. Fallon
Well said, indeed. | |

| Did they bookend the show with a cover of What Becomes of the Broken-hearted? And did you get to hear an awesome version of Film Noir? Same tour, so I'm wondering.... | |

| I can't really recall if the rendition of "Film Noir" was different in any way, although I suppose it might've been. Also, they didn't do that cover, but they did cover The Replacements "Left Of The Dial". Took me a while to recognize it, but pretty freakin good. I would have to say top 5, if not top 3 shows I've ever been to. | |

| This October. October 12th...or 11th. Something amazing like that. A Monday. It was amazing. I got there a couple hours early, and was about fourth in line...stood there drinking energy drinks and waiting. I was at the very front, right on the barrier. The first band, Broadway Calls, I'd never listened to before but I adored. I bought all their shit after the show. Then it was Frank Turner, didn't enjoy as much, and Murder By Death, also just alright. I was really just waiting for Gaslight. Then when Gaslight FINALLY came on, I was screaming. I can't remember the whole setlist, but they played most of my favorite songs...including Drive, We Came To Dance, 1930, Old White Lincoln, and I can't remember the rest. 1930 was the encore, me and a couple other people in the mosh had been screaming for it the whole concert. I screamed my lungs out the whole time. My ribs were bruised from the barrier and I lost my voice from screaming but it was the best concert I've ever been too. I can't wait to see them again. | |

| Saw them for the first time in March of last year for my 21st birthday. My best friend (At the time, but that's another story!) took me to go and we had an absolute blast. I was so excited to hear them play Stand By Me/I'da Called You Woody, Joe since that's one of my favorites. I remember there was a moment where Brian yelled out, "We weren't gonna play this, but oh well!" and then busted out 1930 and everyone went wild.
Afterwards we ended up meeting Brian and Alex R, it was really awesome and one of the best birthdays I ever had, ahaha. Alex was SO pumped that I came out for my birthday and we ended up talkin' about Pittsburgh sports which was cool.
Oh, and we got them to sign our waterbottles because at the time we thought it'd be funny. They definitely agreed, lol.

| Asbury Lanes in May 08. Some Highlights:
First sold out headlining show in NJ. A couple had gotten engaged there. The Riot Before, Scream! Hello, and Laserhead opened the show. (All great bands who I prior to the show, had no clue who they were) My friend Sarah getting the biggest bruise, and being so stoked about it. Stagediving onto my Dad, he loves their shows, and the crowds in general. Played all of Sink or Swim (minus red at night), Senor and the Queen and the 59 sound single, that nobody knew at the time Probably the last time they'll play at the Lanes for awhile....
Best show I've ever seen. Seen them 11 more times since then.

| the show at the Wellmont Theater in December. I stuff came up 3 times before I finally saw them. It was a great victory feeling haha. Bring it On was amazing. No I don't have video haha. I'll never forget when the covered Refugee how into the crowd was. All I could imagine at that point was if they played "We're Getting a Divorce....," especially since that is probably my favorite TGA song. And needles to say, they did. We also almost got all of The '59 Sound album. Except for Ferris Wheel. O well can't win them all. | |

| The first time I saw TGA... wow idk. it was the most incredible show i've ever been to. i saw it in philly which is like an hour away and i went 6 hours early to ensure my place right in front of the barricade haha... we were 2nd in line. the opening bands were great (broadway calls, loved ones). then all the techs set up the equipment and the lights went dark and i heard the drum intro to high lonesome and the stage exploded in lights and sound. it was, for lack of a less cheesy word, magical. the crowd was great and there was this really cool feeling of togetherness... it was weird. they played all of 59 sound cept patient farris wheel, all of senor cept senor (hah), 1930, i'da called you woody joe, and i think maybe we came to dance? they also covered trusty chords by hot water music. it was great. then to top it all off, i walked out of the venue and around back for a smoke and... brian was there. so i got a pic with him. then i went back to the front and met alex l. could not have been better. you'll have a GREAT time i know it. they're shows are special | |
