Hiya
it's been a while! I think I posted earlier this year to show excitement about the Gaslight show in Columbus, which was fantastic. I figured I'd peek back in and try to reconnect a bit. Long story short, back in June my partner and I celebrated our one year anniversary, and then 5 days later he was hit by a car and killed, and a month after that I finalized the purchase of our (my) house... so needless to say, this year has been absolutely unreal in some not so great ways, and just totally crazy. Very much looking forward to seeing Brian on January 13th. I've been getting back into going to shows and just being around "my people" again and it is so, so necessary after hitting some really low points this year.
I'll be in Philadelphia for the first time next week to see Beach Slang if anyone happens to be going and wants to make a friend
I don't have much in the way of local friends so I kinda rely on this stuff to give me a break from isolation.
Anyway. Doesn't look like much has changed around here which is very reassuring! Maybe I will be able to keep up with the forum from now on. I always hope I can but I never manage; enough things have been turned upside down for me lately and I have been going home quite a bit lately (in a very figurative sense) so maybe I can stick around again <3
