Just back from Stuttgart. First time I have seen TGA outside the UK, and first time I have seen them in two years.
Great fun all round, and emotional, as ever. Brian seemed to be in his now usual good mood.
They played for two hours straight, with 25 songs on the set list (not counting War Pigs), but they added two more, 'Boxer' and 'The Patient Ferris Wheel'. TPFW got added after some guys in the crowd starting singing it between songs, and Brian got them up on stage, so they could sing the chorus and the "talk about it" response. So there were 27 songs in total: 7 from GH, 6 from HW, 4 from AS + She Loves You, 7 from T59S, and 2 from SOS.
Good crowd, though a lot of chat around the bar. The venue was considerably smaller than the one planned originally, but it sure made for a good night. I always think Brian is more relaxed in smaller venues.
Although they now have three guitars, Brian kept his for the whole show, so we got none of the nice antics he can get up to when he only has the mic to dealwith.
Here are a few photos:
And, as this is a fan site:

Stuttgart was my 4th Gaslight Anthem gig, and my favorite by far. I hadn't seen Brian in such a good mood before, I thought the talk in-between songs was hilarious. And it was my 1st time ever being in the front row at a show, which is especially amazing if you're as short as me. I do wish they had played a couple of more songs off Get Hurt (Red Violins or Dark Places would have been great), but the setlist was great as it was. Can't wait until next time.
