| I have just started riding bikes more and am realizing that they are a MAJOR pain in the ass when they break - anyone else have the same issue? Like every boke company has their own exact standards that no other company can give you replacement parts for ... that blows! | |

| O hai JoshRaymond, I appreciate your avatar.
I have a bike, but I almost never ride it. Mostly because I don't own a helmet and I'm very clumsy and the roads around here are shitty, so I'm sure I would fall and crack my head open. So I just walk to places that are close enough.

| I'd ride a bike, but Aberdeen is built on hills and I'm sick of killing myself going up them... Plus roundabouts are terrifying when you're riding. People are nuts on the roads here! WALKING IS STILL HONEST! | |

| The best thing you can do, if you can't fix them yourself, is find a good friend who can. But yeah, it can be a pain in the ass. | |

While I was in Apalachin, New York, my hometown, my cousin and I found an old bike and spent days and days fixing it and then it fucking broke again. I was so pissed. We took it right back to where we found it.

| I cycle an hour to work and hour back each day in London, which I love. It leaves me feeling much more energised than spending the same amount of time on the bus to get to the same place.
However, we are averaging one cyclist death a month on the roads here, mainly due to large vehicles turning left at junctions and squashing people. A lot of cyclists I see are idiots though and put themselves in bad positions.....what's more important...trying to get home a few minutes earlier and squeezing by the double decker to do it...or taking it easy, letting the bus go..and getting home alive???!!!!
Not too good with the mechanics though!! Can do the basics but still need to pay the bike shop large sums of money for things I wish I had a male brain for and could do myself.
