I guess to be honest, I'm much more of a fan of the shimmering clean tones than TGA turning up the distortion too much. I had kind of the same beef with some of handwritten. To me, that doesn't sound like the TGA that I fell in love with. I respect their desire to grow, and that's why I like TGA so much is because I like their philosophy on music and life. I'll accept I won't like everything they do, but I don't like not being able to tolerate a song because the guitar tone (usually not something that stands out to me this strongly) sounds so... fake. I know I'm not TGA/Brian, but I'd love to hear that main verse riff played through a les paul hooked up to a marshall. I think that would kick real tail. Can't wait for the album.
