| Certainly those references are there but that does not make "every line" of the song about that topic. There are references to "tail lights" in Great Expectations but that doesn't make it a song about cars. | |

I think the lyrics are way too open-ended to draw that conclusion. There are literally hundreds of scenarios that the lyrics could apply to (such as a break-up, etc.). Yeah, both songs are definitely about a relationship that's dissolved. Drugs/alcohol are referenced, but they aren't the topic of either song. | |
