Back from the gigs in Munich and Vienna and they were both great although Vienna beat Munich by far - we had such a brilliant time there.
Me and my friends also went to the preshow in Vienna which was a lot of fun. We knew what to expect and were surprised by rather long set where they played Too Much Blood, Have Mercy, Stray Paper, Break Your Heart, Drive, Stay Lucky and Astro Zombies and even did a short Q&A on top of that. In total the preshow lasted for around 45 mins. Totally worth going!
The show itself in Vienna was amazing. Just like 2 years ago easily the best one I saw on this tour so far. Great setlist, the band was in the best mood and the audience was too. They did this wonderful transition from Biloxi into War Pigs (Black Sabbath) into Too Much Blood - it was amazing! And again no encore which works extremely well for me.
And we waited with a few other people outside after the show and had a lovely chat with Kyle and Brian. I think we saw Alex talking to a few other people at another backstage door.
45/We Came To Dance @ Gasometer, Vienna not the best quality sound- and picture-wise but it does capture the mood quite well
War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover) @ Gasometer, Vienna
thanks so much for the vids from the Vienna gig! sweet memories! do you know if there's gonna be a bootleg?

There usually are bootlegs of the Vienna gigs but I haven't seen one yet.
Did you get the photo of you on stage I sent you on twitter?

We only had 20 songs tonight in Zurich... I mean, the show was great but why is it always in Zurich that we have less songs??
Seems like they had technical problems and they began later than expected. I thought they changed the setlist to finish on time but I catch one setlist at the end and it was already printed like this, the 20 songs...
When Brian was talking, someone interrupted him and told him to "play the fucking song". The guy was put in his place by Brian in front of everybody, that was funny but in the end we never heard what Brian wanted to say. He just add "This is song is about... elephants!" (that was Sweet Morphine).

Man that had to be disappointing after hearing about all these longer shows. Did they give any sort of explanation? if the set list was already printed that way it still may have been a last minute thing due to the late starting time. Generally speaking, I don't think most bands make up set lists days or even hours in advance so I wouldn't be surprised if the issues they had and time restraints still led to printing up a shorter list right before they went out on stage.

No they didn't give any explanation. Brian just said that they were not gonna do the encore to play longer. The show was good but I wanted to hear Old White Lincoln and Old Haunts, Red Violins and Dark Places sooo much
But at least they put back R&T on the setlist

I just don't get why there's always an idiot or idiots in the crowd that shout shit at the band . Out of the 3 shows I've been too two of them were spoilt by people bring abusive .Why would you go just to do that ?

The show was great last night. I love that Brians sings random songs in the bridges, but unfortunately I didn't know most of them (except Bon Iver's Bllod Bank and War Pigs).
Care to educate me?

Bon Iver is an old one. He already did that at the handwritten tour gig, they played in France.

In Brussels we had fewer songs as well, but that was mainly because of the curfew. Is there a curfew in the Zurich venue?

I hope I am not breaking any forum rules, but I am a bit bummed out I will not be able to use our two London tickets on the 19th. Would be nice to sell them to somebody. Not looking to make any money, just don't want them to be wasted. I can get to most all central and south London train stations fairly easily, so PM me if interested.

As long as you sell them for face value (you can include cost of fees) or less, then no rules are broken .

Thanks, good to know!
I am quite willing to go below face value a bit, actually

The setlist from Manchester, last night: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-gaslight-anthem/2014/o2-apollo-manchester-manchester-england-2bcdb8ee.html Looks about right to me.
Pros: Great performance, they were tight (I almost thought Helter Skeleton was playback for the first few seconds). Nice to see them using the full length & breadth of the back catalogue. They played the set right through (i.e. no encore) because of the curfew.
Cons: 85 minutes isn't long enough, for me. Surely they know that a UK gig means an 11pm curfew, at the latest. Get the support bands on earlier, or speed up the turnaround times. The support acts almost got longer on stage than TGA! Also i'd like to have seen more tracks off Get Hurt (Dark Places, Selected Poems, Ain't That A Shame), but i guess that they had to compromise because of the short set.
Either way, a very good performance, and good to have all 5 of them on stage, given the difficulties they've faced over the last few months.

It's only the second UK show tonight (they'll be onstage in about 25 mins), and the times for both were/are:
