- I completely agree with everything you've written. I just wish there was more communication. An email once or twice a month would be nice. Even if they can't report on anything - just to let us know they are working away. The total silence is much worse in my opinion. Makes your head start to wander.
While I was tempted to agree with the download card idea - remember there is a digital only version of the club. So that's got to be coming by email for those members. Which would make me think everyone's getting it by email. Yup, wandering mind is never good! I was very careful to make sure I was considering how the perspective you get as a customer can be very different from that of the company and it's employees. There's always stuff you don't know about when you're the customer. But when you have no explanation to latch on to, and this isn't the first time you've dealt with a particular issue, it's hard to not get frustrated.
I considered that, and that may very well be how they do it. But it's also possible they'll send those members cards with their t-shirt. Hard to know without communication! Yep! Oh well hopefully this week will bring some answers. Digital version doesn't get a t-shirt. man I'm just shooting down all your ideas.

I forgot the names of the songs but one is a Tom Waits cover and the other is an original by The Gaslight Anthem. I am hoping The Gaslight Anthem song is a full band song not an acoustic.

| I don't post very often, I got mine in the mail yesterday, with a new t-shirt as well. I haven't listened to it yet. It's two cover songs, Tom Waits and a twopointeight song. | |

Hrm......the picture that was sent out a while ago confirmed that one of the songs was an original by The gaslight anthem.

| So i didn't find a song by twopointeight which ends with "...where we part". But if these are both covers, i have to say that i feel at least a tiny bit ripped off. | |

Am I crazy or were we not promised a NEW song annually? I would not have paid 40 buck for a vinyl if I'd known it was going to only be covers.

Pretty sure we were promised at least one new song every year. Yeah, that is total bs. If it turns out just to be a couple covers I probably won't renew next year either. Though, I still think the other song is a new song. The name of it sounds like a Gaslight name and there are no twopointeight songs with the same name.

What's the full title of this twopointeight song? and does it say specifically that it's by them or well basically I'm asking how do you know it's a twopointeight song?

| If you went to the original Instagram post the guy calls it "This is where we part" 7"
http://instagram.com/p/jzfInOA31P/
So I think it's safe to say the second track is called "this is where We part." Either that or since the guy called it "this is where We part" 7" it could be the title of the record. But that would be strange.

| Thanks for clearing it all up, Rogicon.
Personally, I'm not too upset with receiving two covers...that is, as long as they sound 'finished', unlike Halloween (unfortunately)...

Honestly. Molly and the Zombies get new stuff by Brian and the fan club gets two covers ... Are they both acoustic as well or full band? Maybe they were even recorded on an iPhone. (As Brian was producing Twopointeight's new album, they may have let him have a song they didn't need or it's one that'll be on that album.)

| Not impressed with two covers really, even if they are good. I think for the amount of money this all costs you don't get much. | |

Am I crazy or were we not promised a NEW song annually? I would not have paid 40 buck for a vinyl if I'd known it was going to only be covers. pretty sure the club promised two exclusive songs, not new Gaslight songs. You're right, it definitely just says an exclusive 7" on the site. But I still feel like it was suggested somewhere ahead of time that it would be a new song. I was also surprised when we got two songs the first time. So whatever was originally said, wasn't what it ended up being. Which, technically as long as they follow what it says in the official description of the club then they didn't break any rules, so to speak. Still doesn't change the fact that I'm not happy about this. I wish it was clearer (or that someone clarified this along the way) because I know I was not the only one who got the wrong idea and I certainly feel like I wasted money. I probably would've been disappointed but renewed anyway if I had known this in advance, but definitely only the digital version. I like the occasional cover but I wouldn't pay for any covers on vinyl, I don't care how good they are. I think what kind of annoys me the most here is last year I paid $25 dollars, and that got me a vinyl with a NEW GASLIGHT song and a new version of again, a GASLIGHT song, (being that it's a fan club for them, I would hope at least 1 of the 2 was theirs, new or not), and with the bonus surprise of the letterman webcast, this more than paid for itself. While I know they couldn't cut it with a vinyl at that price again, and I get that, having the songs both be covers kinda feels like I paid $15 more this year for a lesser product. Idk to each his own on this. I think I'm done buying things from these guys that isn't just the plain old CD/Vinyl, tickets, and maybe a t-shirt. Because between the "Super-deluxe" ripoff, the non-sense with infinite merch being the only ones with the bonus footage for the short DVD (did that ever go out to people?), and this, I just don't wanna lose any more money because of a technicality in the fine print or because I didn't realize "60 pages of photos" meant "60 pages, only half have photos, and of those photos half are already on the internet". Better safe than broke with little to show for it. Or maybe I'll just wait till you guys buy them and start talking about what you actually got and then decide if it's worth it . But seriously, I don't have this issue buying from any other band. I don't get what the problem is here . Ugh, that's enough complaining for one day. Side note: any ten club members on here? I have a question to ask someone who's been in it for at least a few years.

Side note: any ten club members on here? I have a question to ask someone who's been in it for at least a few years. I've been a Ten Club member for far too long, so fire away with any questions. It's funny that you mention the Ten Club because I was going mention the songs selected for their holiday singles. In the past they've included some combination of originals, covers, live performances, ramblings, demos, and one year even had a song by REM. Some have been great, some have been complete throwaways, and most end up somewhere in between. As for the 45rpm club, they definitely could do a better job with communicating things related to the club (giving out updates, replying to emails, etc) and I don't mean just sending out monthly newsletters with new merch. It still feels like the entire club was thrown together relatively quickly without really knowing what they were getting into or how they were going to deliver it.
