Yeah, sure
He visited Tokio, Hiroshima, Kyoto and some more states, but I can't remember the names anymore ^^ ( I will tell you when I remember the names)
He also was on a island, there he was bitten by a deer XD
He also ate Kobe beef, it's very expensive, but it was very good.
And the first days he had a very bad jetlag...

I'm going to Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Osaka and a few more places. Not sure if any of them are on an island hehe!

Tomorrow I'm going to search the postcards which my brother sent me, there I can see all the places and I will tell you tomorrow

So I found the postcards, here we go:
He was in Tokio, Hiroshima, the island Miyajima, Kamakura, Kyoto, Kobe and Nara.
So it's the island where he was bitten by the deer, it was in Nara.
All this in 2 weeks. How long do you go?

Anybody travelled lately to some interesting places? I went to Croatia(Dubrovnik) and Montenegro(Kotor)a few weeks ago and can definitely recommend both places. Especially Kotor was fucking awesome! Just Google Kotor and maybe you see what I mean . And the whole trip just makes me want to visit Balkan area muchmuch more. Places like Serbia and Bosnia etc. On a busdrive from Kotor to Dubrovnik my ipod selected Frank Turners Live Fast, Die Old first. Well...my feeling were more like Drive Fast, Die Now...but at least the view would have been great going down the cliff. Somebody asked how often the busses go down a cliff there? Answer was something like "only once, because then the bus is broken..." #stupidjoke

I've just noticed I've never been to Eastern Europe... But I really wanna go sometime. I've heard about nice places in Poland, Hungary and Croatia from friends.

However, next summer after I've finished my Bachelor's degree and before I start my Master's, I wanna go someplace further away (from Germany, that is) for about two months... I'm thinking maybe Canada or New Zealand, I haven't decided yet. I also haven't decided yet whether I mainly want to travel or maybe work on a farm/ranch somewhere. After all the stress I've had (and will have until summer) at uni and at work, I would love to get away from offices and "society" for a while, if you know what I mean, and do some physical work. Though that would mean not being able to travel around as much.

Last winter, I stayed in Dublin for 6 months for an internship and travelled to quite a few places in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England. I just loved it there, especially the landscape of Ireland and Northern Ireland was fascinating. And I really felt at home in Dublin. (I also went to Kos, Greece for a week with my boyfriend, though mainly lying on the beach doesn't really classify as "travelling" to me.)

I have a close friend from Poland so I've been a couple of times to Gdynia/Gdansk area and Warsaw, I recommend both. Gdynia is lovely in the summer just for the beaches, though not an awful lot to do but you can cycle along the coastline which is a really nice. Warsaw is a pretty city, unfortunately I was only there for a day so didn't have much time to do any touristy stuff so not sure about that. Well worth a visit though.

I just realized I never replied to this, I am deeply ashamed!

I went for 2 weeks and did a similar itinerary, except I went to Nagasaki instead of Kobe. It was pretty amazing. I did pet deers in Nara and luck was on my side, as I did not get bit or anything! They were so cute!

The culture really is so different, it's not even funny. If you stand for 2 seconds looking at a map someone *will* stop and help you out, it's amazing. They don't speak much english at all though, had a bit of trouble at restaurants but nothing major.

Even if you've been to other places in Asia, Japan is different. I highly recommend it. KLM had great promotions to fly there from Europe!

I have plans to go to Croatia next summer, so I'm definitely interested in any tips you have, like must-see stuff and that

A year ago today, I was partying it up in Ireland. Personally I loved it there. Especially being there during the cold/off-season. I was suppose to be going back there this year, but other things came up, so hopefully I'll be able to go next Oct/Nov. Dublin was my least favorite part of Ireland. I prefer the country.

Other than that, most of my traveling is across the US. Next month I'll be driving across Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

Far away places on my list I'd like to go... Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland

I was too on that Gdansk/Sopot/Gdynia area in 2012 when they played European Championchip in Gdansk.. So didnt really get to see like that much of the city there, but would highly recommend still.  Sopot is the smallest, but probably the best place if you like nightlife what ive heard. Beach is great and all and in Sopot we laughed our asses off, because there is a place called Molo (Europes longest wooden pier)which is also a slangword for penis in Finnish

Well the trip was very short and only in Dubrovnik, but Ill try to tell something...
In Dubrovnik the Old Town is definitely worth of seeing even if it is very touristic (then again what Old Town isnt...). And there is a wall that surrounds the town. Wikipedia tells it better than me:

Thats about it. Ive also heard good things about Pula and Split, but never been there myself.

Might be just 'cause I had a great vacation with my best friend and my family there and have gone there for a couple of times now, but Italy's definitely nice. Hot as hell in the summer (last time I was there it was in August, and in Tuscany, far away from the coast somewhere in the countryside between the hills), but it just feels pretty great.

I probably wouldn't want to move there, but I do definitely want to go there again some time. And I've yet to taste any pizza that can beat some small local pizzeria in some small town close to where we stayed that we went to on recommendation from people that knew the area a whole lot better.

Apart from that I like (big cities), so London's definitely an awesome place to me, even though I've spent a grand total of about three days there so far, spread over two trips. Paris is cool too, but completely different. And London has Camden

Apart from that, the Czech republic is really cool in my experience, went there for a week with my best friend and his family once, but somewhere in the countryside where the prices are still a lot cheaper and the food is good and plenty alright. And of course, visit Belgium, we have awesome beer and plenty of pretty quaint places. Kinda dull sometimes, but I don't think I wanna move anywhere else just yet.

I hope you won´t mind me opening this thread after almost a year.

I really like travelling although I haven´t been anywhere further than maybe 400km from home this year because of work, but in the end of last year´s summer, me and my friends did a road trip from Slovakia, through Czech republic, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, again Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland back to Slovakia. We had only two weeks for this road trip, so our first sightseeing was in Denmark and the last was in Latvia´s capital Riga. We wanted to see more than just roads in Lithuania but since we spent more time in Norway than we planned, we just didn´t have time for it. But one day I will go back there. And the reason why we spent so much time in Norway is because it is simply beautiful and I think it should be on everyones must visit list. I have to go back there too, because by far we haven´t seen everything we wanted.
