| hey, Snap, i just watched your vid of Here's Looking At You, Kid, and i love it. you have a great voice, and that song works really well on piano. but now, I have a request. it's of another Frank Turner song, "Father's Day". it's one of the best songs I've ever heard, and i just found a live vid of him playing it, and there's a piano intro, so I think it could work really well
here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEIxL8ZbJOc&feature=related
if it's not too much trouble, i'd love it if you could cover this. i can hook u up with the album version, lyrics, chords, whatever you need

(just got to get over a cold first!) also i'm working on covers of To Take You Home and Outdoor Type, so it's nice to try something off the first album

http://www.mediafire.com/?uwlwmojjjv1 here's 1930, The Blues, Mary, Here's Looking at You, Kid, The Navesink Banks, and, by request of JR, Bleeder i think they all turned out pretty well except for The Blues, Mary. i did it on one take, and my voice was kinda shot, but whatever. and i don't think i should have covered a song that Brian played acoustic, 'cause it's impossible to top him, but i am pretty happy with my 1930 cover. enjoy, tell me what you think about 'em

| yeah dude i'm kinda really jealous of your voice, 'cause mine kinda sucks and i can't do all the things i wanna do with it. sick cover. you sound a lot like Brian too. do you actually sound like him, or were you putting on the roughness to sound like him? either way, it sounds good | |

You have a really soulful voice and you sound much, much older than you are. thank you so much brother, it feels great to hav feedback like this ya ive always loved to sing-not ever in front of anyone- but the whole rough, raw, and, like you said, soulful kinda sound really appeals to me and its kinda turned into my voice now lol Jukebox Romeo wrote: - Quote :

thanks a ton man, its cool to know that people liked the cover! lol and thank you for the compliment about my voice.. i dont usually sing in front of people but i think ill hit the open mic a little bit more now and i dont know if i sound like him so much like my normal voice.. its not too different when i sing but yes i have kinda tooled my voice to mimic brian a little bit.. ive been workin on it ever since i heard gaslight for the first time in 07.. and its pretty much the way i sing now, im not saying that im trying to sing every song just like Brian Fallon but that his style has influenced the way i sing and i really love and try to capture the passionate, soulful, raw sort of emotion that he sings with. so now its become the way i approach singing i guess.. if that makes any sense! lol its late and im trippin and tired and that might sound like a bunch of random fragmented shit but you get the point lol anyway thanks to you guys for the kind words, they really mean alot since this is sorta my first attempt at getting out there and playing music for people and it makes me incredibly happy that people even remotely dig it! |

| Didn't realize we had this thread! I posted this cover of Nine Crimes earlier, but I think the place I uploaded it was jacked, so here's another go at it: http://www.imeem.com/people/vuKWpd5/music/M-MyNWIt/nine-crimesmp3/ I'm not going to go into how poor quality it is... but I'll just say that I really need voice lessons soon. | |

| I'll definitely be doing some sort of TGA cover soon, just not sure which song yet. I'll post the link when I get around to doing it.
EDIT: If anyone reading this has heard my music and wants to hear me do something by Gaslight, I would absolutely do whatever song you asked. So...ask away!
